In the DB dump for Apocyrpha there is an old module that has been updated to use a subsystem slot with these details:
Table: invgroups
GroupID: 405
Category: 7
Name: Anti Cloaking Pulse
Description: Broadcast a signal in all directions within a limited range that cause all the cloaked objects within it to decloak.
Slot: Subsystem
Thankfully it ain't here yet!

This has, as far as I know, been part of the data-dump since the dawn of (Eve)time. Just another module that never made it to release, the database is riddles with them.
Still, these "finds" crop up ever so often so no harm done I suppose

Interesting find. It indeed seems odd that ccp would bother to update an ancient module database entry to be used on the new mega multi role strategic cruisers if there was zero plan to eventually use it. Time to start bugging the test server residents it seems.

Ironically, I don't think that a DDD will actually decloak you. Like smartbombs, I believe a DDD will only deal damage to cloaked ships, but not actually decloak them.

such a module would only be allowed in 0.0 (maybe lowsec), since it would aggro a large area like a warp bubble does, and probably has similar range. since it would have no effect against un-cloaked ships, and only special ships can use it, i see no major issue it.

Remember, EVE is a sandbox and other MMOs are rock gardens.
Pretty rocks can be collected, but collecting sand is pointless.
Instead build a sandcastle and keep it from being knocked down. |
