I left a station and immediatly I was attacked by 4 ships before I could warp. I could not figure out why I died. They killed my clone to. Is there any log maintained of who attacked me and why? ie if it was NPC did I salvage something off a ship that I was not supposed to?

yes there is just check you combat logs in your character info page. More importantly check the security system rating for where the kill took place, more than likely you were in 0.4 or lower which is kill or be killed space. If 0.5 or higher they either had aggressions rights to you or if you are in a player coporation, that corporation was under a wardec.

Open your character sheet, select "Combat log" from the sidebar and then click the "Losses" tab - that will show you all recent combat losses. If you right click one of those and select "Copy kill details" you can paste the text into Word or Notepad and see who killed you, where you were killed and what modules were dropped or destroyed.
My money is on low-sec pirates, in the billiard room, with battlecruisers. |

Insted of having to copy, you can always double click the combat log entry and eve will open it in a nice little window for you to read in game! :D

Did you have an agression countdown against you? Should show at top left of screen.

If you were in hisec:
- What is your security status? If it's below -2 you'll get attacked by faction police in 1.0, -2.5 in 0.9, -3.0 in 0.8, -3.5 in 0.7, -4.0 in 0.6, and -4.5 in 0.5. At -5.0 security status you can be attacked anywhere by anyone without consequence from CONCORD or gate guns or faction police.
- Were you mining with a jetcan, or did you take from a jetcan outside the station? Someone may have canflipped/canbaited you.
If you were in lowsec:
- Probably just station campers. If they were in large ships (Battlecruiser+) they could easily tank gate guns and kill people undocking.
However, on another note, I now have one of those annoying sigs. |
