But maybe it should be like: Lvl 5 = -5.0 and lower Lvl 4 = -6.0 and lower Lvl 3 = -7.0 and lower Lvl 2 = -8.0 and lower Lvl 1 = -9.0 and lower
Then have some kind of Advanced Vigilantism that gives you: Lvl 5 = -0.1 and lower Lvl 4 = -1.0 and lower Lvl 3 = -2.0 and lower Lvl 2 = -3.0 and lower Lvl 1 = -4.0 and lower
That way you have to be seriously trained up to get the "OH NOEZ I FIRED ON MY BUDDY BY ACCIDENT" people that just have one sec status hit. (i.e. the easy stuff...) In all likelyhood anyone under -4.1 probably knows what they're doing by now.
Maybe you could call it CONCORD Bribing or something like that. :-)
What do you think?

The problem with that is that -5.0 is Outlaw and already open season.

The problem I see is that the current system already works fine and makes a lot more sense.
If you drop to -5.0 or below you are an outlaw and can be shot by anyone anywhere without any CONCORD response. It makes no sense why CONCORD would make special exceptions for players to be able fire on ships that the sentry/station/gate guns do not feel are enough of a threat (-5.0) to fire on in the first place. Add to this the entire war dec mechanic and I just don't see the need for any change like this.

And the problem with that is the Faction Navies already engage targets that are not outlaws in certain security levels. So it makes no sense not to allow players to engage as well.
The whole system could use an update.

One of my characters dropped to -0.7 because of a simple mistake...and it takes literally ages to get it back up when I don't have the option to rat in 0.0 (not to mention that he's mostly industrial-based to begin with). I wouldn't like seeing him being a target just because someone trains a skill to do so...
This would also get the newbies even more confused if they drop to a certain level for whatever reason...
Not supported (not like this is an "official" request thread anyway).

Funny how those that always claim "EVE is ALL PvP" arent behind this idea.

If we are going to add a skillsystem for bounty hunting, I have a few ideas for it:
1. You have to have a +5 or higher Sec Status to train them 2. Once you train them, you become flashy to all pirates in highsec. Reason for this being so you cannot just pick your fights with the pirates you think you can kill. 3. You lose all training of this skill if you drop below 0 Sec status 4. You still aggro station and gate guns (Vigilante isn't always looked highly upon) ---- <Insert Wit> |

Because one has nothing to do with the other. What you want already exists. Your complaint is that other people don't post high enough bonties (a problem with them, not with the mechanics) and that you refuse to make use of existing opportunities (a problem with you, not with the mechanics).
What you're suggesting as a solution to this non-existing problem is so thoroughly unbalanced that you'd need a circus convetion worth of line dancers to keep it from falling over. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |
