I whole heartedly disagree with the overall tone and position of the replies to this thread. It is simply a post referencing a brokering job that I have accepted. I do not plan to link to it in future IPOs or Bonds. This stands to do nothing to help my reputation, however if I abuse the trust my corp member has given me, it stands greatly to damage my reputation.
MD should be applauding this move, having found the original thread, they can monitor if the money was stolen or sent. It's essentially a cheap way for MD to monitor my activities to help make sure they are clean.

The problem is that the original thread is what has value, but cross posting is not allowed, so the "post referencing a brokering job that I have accepted" actually referenced nothing. If this "has to do nothing what your rep", why did you posted here? What I mean is that MD has no need "to monitor your activities to help make sure they are clean", if you're legit you don't need anyone to check it outside interested parties, that's why the only possible reason to post it here is to increase your rep, and since you are not allowed to crosspost, that was a not so nifty trick to increase your rep. Also be sure that if your reputation needs to be checked in the future, this will be raised and discussed, no need to point it now and here. Remember that constructed reputations had been abused before and I think that's one of the reasons that actively building reps is not popular here, so rep is usually given rather than built, that may explain the tones, previous paragraphs explain my position.

The only thing that I can say to this, is that I did not make this post, but instead of asked by BOTH PARTIES to respond here and in the other topic. They asked, I complied, it was as simple as that. I do think posting it here was a little bit ridiculous, but I was not under control of posting this topic.

Please direct all *erudite* criticism towards me. JT did only as was asked, nothing more. I believe in a public record of transactions involving large sums of money. There are those who agree with me. I am sorry you do not. As JT pointed out, posting here could only serve to hurt his reputation, should the situation go awry. The idea of using it to boost his reputation is a fantastical illusion concocted purely for your own amusement.
For your own amusement, I have provided links to several ongoing MD threads more deserving of your services than this one.

Should be applauding the move of publically recording transactions involving large sums of money.
Originally by: James Tundra I do think posting it here was a little bit ridiculous
What I meant by this was more the fact that it was posted in two places. Posting it in just the original thread would have been perfect, but the double posting seemed strange.

That solves it.
Originally by: Lecherito I believe in a public record of transactions involving large sums of money.
There was a public record, It's not this thread, it isn't on this forum, follow the link to your original post. You make a public record when you have made a deal in-game and you want to have it written for proof. You had it written already.
Quote: The idea of using it to boost his reputation is a fantastical illusion concocted purely for your own amusement.
When I said that this was the only possible reason, I meant the only reason wich will justify posting it here in the way it was done (And you should note that I never said it was bad to do it, but as someone pointed out, if James wants to do so, he should post a thread offering his services and link to the original thread. Improving rep through arrangements like this has been done in the past, not so fantastical. I still don't know why you and the other party wanted this thread. False sense of security, maybe? I don't really care right now.
Quote: For your own amusement, I have provided links to several ongoing MD threads more deserving of your services than this one.
I can choose myself the threads in wich I want to participate, thanks. But I'm with you thinking that this thread is solved. Specifically, I think it was solved just before you answered, knowing that James had no interest in making this thread. I don't understand why you want to revive the discussion.
Originally by: James Tundra What I meant by this was more the fact that it was posted in two places. Posting it in just the original thread would have been perfect, but the double posting seemed strange.
That resumes the possible misunderstanding, although I think that Lech should have posted information if he wants it here for whathever reason.

Actually due to a shortage of actors, the same guy got redistributed in at least two roles.

There may have been some validity to the thread in here if
1. There wasnt already a thread about this in another section of the forums.
2. There was actually more information than "hey look, me and this guy are doing something for someone"
3. It was actually a large sum of money.
If you are going to make your dealings public, then getting uppity about people getting involved, does not make sense.

Might as well go on record as saying... ^ This.
I am not getting a good vibe from Lecherito; whether this is from his confrontational attitude, the "I may be new but I know as much or more as everyone who has been here for years" mindset, or some collection of factors too small to recognize, I don't know. This is my opinion and in no way is meant to shape the feelings of others.

Thus, in early January of 2006, Currin Trading was born. But I knew that an alt would still have zero credibility, even if named after a business. All along, I planned to have my business run out of a website. I could make the website filled with content that made it appear that the business was legitimate. It would explain the idea behind the fake business and create the illusion that the business had many members and explain why it operated out of a front man--namely, for secrecy and security. The story would go that it had formerly operated out of a corp officially, but competitors would attack them or hire mercenaries, and loyal investors would be forced by the shifting alliances of their corps to cut off ties. So our heroes decided to go underground and operate solely out of an alternate account.
I would also make the business appear older than it was, by creating an announcements page with announcements that went back in time. They would all be fake, of course, telling a fictional story of how the business had evolved, including a story about a message board that had to be taken offline after too many griefers spammed it (mercifully, it was kept on archive mode for awhile so people could save their posts, and then the plug was pulled, making its existence unverifiable), the introduction of other components to the website, and an obligatory reference to Hurricane Katrina with a link to the Red Cross donation website.

I'm sure everyone using that site tells the truth, personally I find this thread and the one in the mission section a joke which should have never gone into the public. Keep private deals private and please keep your date night findings to yourself.
