Edited by: Merchant O''Venice on 24/05/2009 17:38:45 Lots of people are complaining that L4 missions are an infinite supply of isk, with next to no risk (in hisec).
Perhaps a potential solution is to create a queue of missions of each level, and when you go to an agent you get placed in the queue. When you get to the top of the queue, the next mission relevant to your agents type and level is given to you. Then the supply of missions can be tightly controlled.
In addition, it would make more sense to having the penalty for not completing a mission, as you're denying it to someone else.
-----
The other way of doing it, would be short length mission "auctions"... where missions get posted, and half an hour later the lowest priced bidder gets the mission. With skills available to be able to bid on multiple missions. Adds additional time risk and the requirement to juggle contracts more effectively if you want to be permanently running missions and not waiting for a bid to succeed. Would need the penalty for failure to be monetary to prevent abuse.
----
Both of these solutions would lower the number of missions being run, most likely, forcing people to engage in more varied activities.
Just a few thoughts.

With regard to the second idea, the quality of the bid would have to be inversely proportional to the amount of reward requested, and the time you bid to complete the mission... this would require a bit of careful thought and effort.

Can we leave missons alone ? Your name suggests you are a merchant ....think on the mechanics which would help trade missons ...come up with ideas for that or something :)
Dont screw the current missons system up.
I need that isk !

how about we put a cap on how much isk you can make a week on trading also, and how much isk you can make on mining while we are at it.
how many threads do we need on this whine of the month, year?

i like the idea of having a system wide billboard that u can pick any lvl mish (that u have enough standing to do) from any agent in the system
you of course could also set up filters for only a certain corp, agent type, or lvl ======= Homeworld Hamachi Network

The problem for me is that part of the appeal of missions is that they're one of the few casual things in EVE, when you don't want to commit to being online for hours. Drop in, improve your wallet with some mild action, drop out. Also, the queue idea seems like it would disadvantage a casual player in favour of the hardcore Golem-nauts with three accounts, who would clog up the queue by "reserving" missions with their support characters.

i believe there should be only a certian amount of mission active at one time, cutting down the mission to only a set amount would mean all the people that are from up time can run them and close the columb down for the eveming time.
something need to be done
it just hard making it fairer for everyone
if you buy eve in a box from my game store i will give you isk (GAME , parkgate rotherham)

You too can run missions. They are not exclusive to any single group.
They are not a limitless supply of isk as they take time to run and to salvage, etc. That time could be spent PVPing or doing other fun things.
I guess what I am saying is, STFU about missions already.

Less L4s = Less ISK Less ISK = Less PvP
The problem isn't L4s giving too much money, it's having no reason for carebears to experience PvP. You are trying to force someone who doesn't like PvP to do PvP. ---- <Insert Wit> |

Pvpers fail to understand that without carebears carebearing and making isk, they wont get fights. everyone does it. eventually if the isk making methods are removed, they wont even make a profit pvping as no one will pvp, and the ones that do wont have good fittings. |

imo the only problem of infinite number of missions is not isk income itself, but the WTF factor when you try to explain it to people who play EVE first time... it is boring and repetitive... __________________________________ I do it myyyy wayyyy... Milky Way. |

This is an absolutely terrible idea.
What they should do is shift missions rewards from bounties to agent payouts, and then apply dynamically changing agent quality based on use. That would make frequently used agents worth less and lesser used agents worth more (hint: Low-sec!).
Bottom line: Your suggestion forces drastic gameplay changes for many people. Mine encourages it.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

Mission runners are quite happy with where thier missions are now. No need to change it.

I seriously like the idea of caps for everything including shuttle only combat yes that would be awesome.
and mining in shuttles only. yes that will work too.
not allowed anything greater then a civilian mining laser.
oh and about about we put a cap in the head of these really dumb ideas.
