Have learned a lot from you all in a very short amount of time. Figured I would introduce myself before I just started showing up in threads. I have been playing Eve for about three months. I am currently in Iraq and one of my buddies here introduced me to the game and has been helping me along. Been focusing on Mining to earn ISK and plan on creating an ALT for PVP here in the next few days. My mining character just got into a Hulk about a week ago and I have been mining like crazy ever since. Have been running lv1 1 missions until I find one with a lot of 'roids and then I mine it out for a few days before turning the mission in. Has worked out pretty well. Feel I have enough ISK now to fully fund a PVP toon into a pretty decent ship. My buddy flies around in a Hawk and loves it, thinking I will do the same. That there is part of why I have been reading this forum, to find out what to do with my PVP toon. Mining is fairly straight forward. PVP though is a lot more complicated as I am sure you are all aware. So anyway I don't want this to be too long, but wanted to say hello and you will see me around. Plan on participating quite a bit on the board. Should be home by first part of Sept. Not too bad here either, if I was not set on getting my degree completed I would have volunteered to stay for a few more months. Lot of downtime to play online when not out on mission. Sitting in a pretty nice private room with an internet connection and a very efficient A/C. Not a whole lot to complain about. Know others have it much worse. Read about 20 pages worth of posts over at the new citizens forum, learned a LOT! I was very happy to see how helpful this community is and how welcoming is is to new people. Have seen other forums where new people were just chewed up and spit out. I tend to do pretty well at that. I may be new to this forum but I am not new to forums in general. Been a member of quite a few other ones. This forum has a number of very intelligent and creative people. Well help make the gameplay just that much better.
