I'm only posting because Ard prodded me with a jagged piece of rusty metal and made me do it.
I am 50 (it's the new 30 and don't you forget it!  ), been in EVE 2 years, and am all about the YARRRR...so #5 on the list (or #6, if ya use Bellum's good suggestion). I started playing as a carebear but soon discovered two things: 1) pirates are the rock stars of EVE, and 2) blowing up ships and taking stuff is way more fun than slicing and dicing asteroids.

Ive happily cruised my way through this game since i was 30 by pretty much avoiding missions except for the first year where i needed to get standings. The bear part of me is belt rats, the Yar! part is enjoying fleet actions and the odd pirate contact.
I usually lose my ship happily for everyone else. Im also currently as rich as ive ever been in the game with still sub 1bil. I do know how to make it, its just not what i feel the need for. I guess the thing that drives me most is to one day get an officer all to myself.

37 here... multiple accounts which cover all the bases... with this char mostly 3+4... playing EvE irregularly since 2003, started afresh early 2008 to give this game the love it deserves... although made the 'mistake' of allowing my daughter to create my character.... :)
Reckon we should all sign up to a 'Grey Alliance'... Alternatively, how about having a zimmerframe instead of a skull icon for the elder pirates... ;-) |
