Ooh, RP reasons! Let's see.. We're not immortal, we're already dead. We've been dead since the first time we died, and now we're just liveless machines made out of flesh and bone, with our old minds stolen from our real selves and implanted in these clones. Having to "live" forever gives us even bigger reason to have a drink.

For me they can bring in ambulation on 3 conditions.
1. They fix ALL the bugs in the game as it stands first. 2. IĈm allowed to shoot stations that contain war target pilots and kill said pilots with minimum collateral damage to other citizens in the station. 3. They put windows in the station so docked pilots can see who is waiting outside ready to gank them.
The pirates will wine about the last one. All the above said with a broad smile as it will never happen.

Short answer; Because Ambulation isn't adding content to EVE.
Longer answer; Because Ambulation isn't adding content to EVE, i.e. it's pointless. It also adds a few risks, like, having people running around in stations socializing instead of being bored from spinning ships and actually undock. Or having them finding the 3d chatline enough fun to not undock. Either case, we get less interaction in space, which is what EVE had since day one. Interaction in space.
I don't know about you, but I want to blow up stuff and grief people. Since the first day I joined this game I've been able to do that. If I don't blow up their stuff, I make them bored spinning ships in stations. Ambulation will make PvP worse, no matter if you fight PvPers or PvEplayers. It's not gonna add any good aspects at all to PvP. And, what is EVE about, if not PvP? Industrialism happens in space. Fights happen in space. Trading isn't happening (no market) without the actions in space.
Ambulation is a spawn of the devil. Unless we all get a baseball bat and a way to smack players out of airlocks with them, it's something negative to EVE.
That's not even mentioning the potential resources it takes from development. Hell, even using one guy part-time would be too much resources wasted on Ambulation, simply put. - I'd tell you why but then I'll have to kill you. And to kill you I'd have to log in. And to log in I'd have to stop browsing these forums. Both you and me knows that'll never happen. |

Why are people complaining about ambulation? Because deep down a grand majority of the players are whiney *****es about one thing or another. If CCP never talked about ambulation, these people would be whining about something else.
It's really that simple.

Originally by: Nova Fox Also if you delved into back story enough, Pod pilots get thier own special section of the station, where only the most trusted non pats are allowed into.
This is because of the lingering smell of the pod goo, the "never seen daylight" hue and the general appearance that can be described as a corpse left in a formaldehyde jar for a decade or 2.
That is, the other customers would complain... or be making a mob and take matters into their own hands with stakes, garlic and torches.

Just take a look at Anarchy Online and then you'll know why ambulation is a really bad idea.

Ambulation is going to be optional. If you don't like it, DO NOT use it. It's a fairly easy idea. If CCP were to stop development on Ambulation, the majority of the player base would have a louder complaining voice than the griefers, ect, that are currently complaining. CCP can't make everyone happy, so the best way is to compromise, and that's what they're doing with not making Ambulation mandatory.
And to the people asking other things to be fixed before Ambulation, it'll never happen. There is always going to be bugs and problems, and keeping the game the exact same forever is not going to help them achieve subscribers. They're not taking away enough developers to make an impact on normal game updates anyway.

Thats a year's effort by the whole department according to thier responses, theyll basically have to redo the entire ship in order to add a third gun, Best they can do is acheive better gun stats for now and improve capitol missiles systems effectiveness. There is going to be another round of boosts for the Nag and capitol missiles soon though if you been keeping up with the development thread so expect them soon.
Also art department is probably busier with the last tech 3 modules and additional content such as the new nebula system, more effects, graphics optimization, and planetary interaction content such as tanks and atmo craft
