If you had only 1mil isk, didn't like combat and didn't want to mine, how would you make isk?

Invention and Manufacturing.
Other than that not much :)
You could gather some cash from those two to trade however.

To be honest I don't see how someone with such little isk could do either of those things, certainly not invention, a single interface costs multi millions, add to that the blueprints, skill books, datacores....
However, I have no suggestion for the OP, you're pretty much out of luck, the two main isk sources in the game are mining and grinding so you're just making yourself useless and won't enjoy your time here by not doing either...which is pretty much what's happened to me.

you dont have much of a choice in the beginning, you need to do missions until you get a good starting capita then you can move to the industry areas and research areas.
But combat is still the most effective for money.

Trade, like someone said. Get a few trade skills up, read a few trade guides, and look toward eventually getting and proficiently flying a Blockade Runner like the Crane.

First, I would tell you to READ THIS.
Then, I'd probably advise either hauling, trading or a combination of both, or maybe running NPC courier missions.

good advice but it was actually a rhetorical question, i'm an alt to a 6 year old main.
I was just thinking, people who don't want to do missions or mine are pretty much shafted, everything else requires large amounts of startup capitol making the rich richer
the only option is trading and i can tell none of you have ever tried that with only a million isk, flying 15+ jumps to make 20k is a great way to put people off the game.
i know most people have no problem just endlessly grinding the same missions over and over and over but for the ones who balk at the idea of missions, there really is little going for you....unless you've already done enough missions to be able to afford not to do them...
