With the new walking-in-stations feature, wouldn't it be possible to add an observation deck to stations, where players would be able to view the space around them?

While this would be neat... You pilot your ship from inside your POD. This pod connects your nervous system directly to the ship and lets you view it and the surrounding space through deployed cameras. POD ships don't have decks, crew quarters or anything else that you would commonly find on a staffed vessel.

I believe the original poster was talking about then walking in stations is released. This is then you dock at a station and get unplugged from your pod so you directly control your avatar (not the ship) so you can stand at a large window and see the space outside the station. Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |

Yes, i meant in stations, this probably wouldn't be too hard to do, but this wouldn't be very useful except for station caps and such maybe but it sure would be a cool feature :)

Although it makes sense, please read other threads before reposting an old idea.

Actually pod ships have all this, there is a crew on all of your ships bigger than frigates. It has been discussed on forums and although the player base can't seem to agree, its in EVE Chronicles that our ships have crews. We are just replacing the bridge staff and captain.

I would rather think of them as robots or androids than human beings. Makes me feel better about some of the ships I have lost. :)
Can you imagine being a crew member on one of these ships? Never know where you are going, what danger you are getting into.
Just going to stick with my idea, even if it is wrong. :)

it would still take time to get your avatar to his room, into his pod, then his ship, then undocked. unless they made it a one button operation from avatar on the observation deck to undocking.

CCP Has stated this isnt going to happen because of the fact the WIS servers will be pretty much seperate from the rest of the game, The only time either servers will talk to each other is during the transfer of the player. It would involve massive performance hits and is generally not plausible with current software/hardware limits. ___________________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008
