Is it worth risking 200 hours of effort on a game? How much does a Titan cost? 70B ISK? What's that worth in real life time? About, say 7,000 hours????? This is the equivalent of about 40 MONTHS of someone's time at a full-time job (173hours per month)
If you only do 10m ISK / h at any given time, you've failed at eve. Well hmmm 10m ISK /hr. When you just started out playing? HAHAAH. Pass the pipe baby. You've had your limit. You must be a newbie if you don't understand how easy it is to rip out 1billion in less than 5 hours. I got 1.5b ISK on my first day in eve without selling plexes / getting donations.
And yes, scams were involved.

knulla wrote:So you don't need an alliance, ok, do you need a corp? do you want to play with others at all?
I can go on and on asking questions you, the guy and girl before wont answer for a lifetime I see. Check their histories, they both play / have played with others. Keep asking rhetorical questions and act like you're an investigative reporter...
knulla wrote:who do you mine for? build for? get ISK for? play for? Is sandbox and your sandbox=make isk and mine for the fun of it a few hours a day for years and nothing else? solo? I have a hard time buying that, perhaps if you were Data and had no emotions maybe, but even then Data wanted to be more human May I suggest playing the real stockmarket then? Or monopoly? or just play angry birds? I just don't believe someone is willing to spend time and money to do industry in this game without a goal other than that being the goal on its own. ANd if it is Why can't you do that in lowsec, 0.0 or in a wormhole? My changes would make that easier, more fun and rewarding.
Why are people lawyers, accountants or even tax-accountant lawyers? They find it interesting/rewarding - same with Eve. Some people *love* having a spreadsheet that accounts for every drop of ore, depending on skills, standings and available refining equipment. Why is that so hard to believe? Or are you one of those people who (as you indicated with your rhetorical question above) can't imagine that there *might* be motivations to do anything outside of those motivations you're familiar with?
knulla wrote:Or are you saying because you are anti social and have yet to meet or have any friends who think like you do to create said corp or alliance my changes are not to be implemented now? Nice strawman...
knulla wrote:god you guys are worse than goons forcing your **** down my throat!
PS: I played industry myself for years, you are like a painter that does not want anyone even yourself to take pleasure in your painting, hint* they do not exist, why do they exist in EVE?
edit; if it is because you want to play a game like flOw then play flow, why on earth would you buy call of duty to have a gaming experience like Tetris. That is what you are doing now. A: they are forcing nothing, but nice try. B: Painters *do* exist who paint for nothing but the enjoyment they get from painting, I personally know two that to get them to show you what they've done, you almost have to pry it from their hands with crowbars, because *they* didn't do it for anyone but themselves. Another nice strawman... C: They're playing Eve in a manner you don't understand. So what?
Wormholes: The *NEW* end game of Eve - Online: No Local. No Lag. No Blues (No Intell Channesl). No Blobs.

The problem is that nobody is willing to risk being blown up (except in suicide ganks) and so won't fight anything they don't have superior numbers and ship types against. Some say that this is "winning" "strategy" and "doing it right". And while this may indeed win you your fights, it makes things boring. Would you rather have 2 minutes of shooting every how in which you watch that little red bar fill up in seconds? Or would you rather have multiple fights every hour even though you might lose every once in a while?
This is the reason why there is not enough blowing up in the economy, because people simply aren't willing to risk being the one that gets blown up. So they stake their claims and blow up the odd stray that wanders in, waiting for "the other guys" to wander into their trap. Meanwhile, the other guys are also doing the same thing and waiting for them to wander in. Neither wants to be the one that loses the fight. |

Here is my experience of 0.0 sec:
My case is simple and discusses several instances of experience.
1) I had about 20mil sp when my first trip to 0.0. Was lured by following: a) More mining income b) Ratting c) Plexing d) Fun pvp What I got:
a) more mining but with 50% going to alliance and after a while 80% going to alliance ending up in lower income than what I could get mining veldspar. obviously someone was getting rich while I was roid- drilling. b) have killed couple of rats with other 20 members trying to get a kill as well c) System had no plex pocket we were not as avid farmers to be able to rent a system with the plex pocket d) Was asked to be on almost 6H a day patrolling outskirts of alliance controlled space. Never got a to kill anyone thus was not able to get any cash.
2) I had about 23mil sp (shortly after I left corporation) and thinking I had just a sour xp previously. Join-ed new corporation in 0.0. Omitting here what I was promised here is the only thing I got:
a) Some officer yelling that I have to be online almost as a full time job working for corporation with the payout somewhere between 40-60million a day.
I do not have more then 2-3H a day and not even every day. So 0.0 was overkill for me on demands from the individual. I went back to high solo mining with small but steady income of 10-15mil a day, some missioning, and trading. This would sponsor my needs for buying a new BS once in a while and figuring out how well it works and what can it do. soon after I left game because I had not ime to play at all.
Now almost after a year I come back and find that high sec mining is no longer safe with hulkagedon raging indefinitely, I can no longer mine some basic ore which is really sad as I enjoyed drilling roid while browsing market looking for a re-selling deals, or checking out different ships, or just admiring the graphics of rotating asteroid (set at ultra).
So I tried 0.0 and it did not suit me (second full time job with no rewards is not what I am looking for) Now 0.0 dwellers are asking to fully force me into 0.0 sec and as I understand their dollar is more green than mine as it is going to be their way as I see.
PS: if there are casual 0.0 sec corps that wont rob me blind I would be happy to join (PM me corp name). But in my xp so far casual and 0.0/low sec have no meaning in same context... |
