Does anyone know what the drop will be when you destroy a POS?
Will it follow similar rules to ships?
Will station modules be droppable?
What about ships that are docked there?
Blueprints?
Anything?

you cant destory them once built, you can take it over from the other owner hopefully the defenses wont be as weak as the current NPC stations or having a POS will be a waste of time ------------------------------------------------ Do not let the world change you. Change the world
Here's everything I know about war: somebody wins, somebody loses, and nothing is ever the sa |

This gives the defender and the attacker the opportunity to prepare for the final siege. The attacker does deliver quite an financial loss of the owner, and has the choice of taking the attack to an siege, resulting in conquering of the territory or destruction of the structures.

If you take over the structure then do you get what's in it?
Your quote doesn't say anything about what drops when its destroyed, just that a POS can be destroyed.

You CAN detroy them according to shiva pages.
Makes no sense if you cant, they wouldnt be an isk sinkt hen would they ?
Anwway, my guess is the drops will consist of consumables minerals and fitted modules. Not the bp's since that would just be asking us to gank every pos out there. _______________________________________________

Wow, they really should check this for spelling errors. "An siege"? "an financial"? "Deliever an financial loss OF the owner?" hmm...

Sure it will, but dropping us a few bpo's everytime we do it would just be too much. I say the owner gets a residual sec can at the anchor spot with any bpo's in it, otherwise you might as well have no research going on in 0.0 since noone will be taking the risk.
unless of course ccp thinks up something better. _______________________________________________

tbh CCP should really make POS an infinite money sink and let ppl pour more and more into defense of the structure by adding more turrents more power sources blah blah and just make the costs of deploying and maintaining keep getting exponentially higher as you add to it. In short I see no reason in the world that it wouldnt be the best isk sink in the game. Who cares if Corp or Alliance X can make it. The key will be keeping it supplied so the defenses RUN.
Might even promote siege warfare in this game with groups trying to "camp" the holy grail of all stations hoping that when the reactors run dry they can rush in and claim it
Maybe even create a new job or career in eve -- Installation Administrator who can lower or raise the defensive levels of the installation if there online and docked at it to conserve resource usage. After all if the threat level isnt there no reason to have all the turrents running etc.
Have it be a trainable skill and based on level if the admin is online and docked certain services at the installation are cheaper or actually work better. like better refining cheaper repairing faster research or cheaper building blah blah..
Heck why not go all out and add a AGENT Module and let the owner have an agent they actually employ :) might be a good roleplaying aid and let the owners script the content of the NPC offered missions to a degree (at least the surrounding story).

Edited by: S'Daria on 16/09/2004 06:13:49 From the last Dev blog: Quote: Hakera> Martin> If a POS is destroyed or taken over what happens with the ships docked in them etc... ?
Oveur> same as if you find a ship floating around, you can board it and you then own it.
Hakera> so destroying a POS will be similar to destroying a ship - x amount of anything inside might survive as loot?
Oveur> yes
Oveur> ship hangar with ships in it = you have ships
YEAH!!!
Pirate0: Woot...there goes the POS! Pirate1: Crap, another battleship...ok who can fly a mega?

Does anyone know if the existing conquerable stations will remain as they are now after all this is implemented?
Computer games don't affect children. If PacMan had affected us as kids then we'd all be running around in dark rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music. |
