What is your proudest moment in eve?
Mine is winning a 2vs 1 (2 crows vs my vigil) in xetic. I'm not bragging, this is genuinely my proudest moment.

I was always a bit in awe of Morkt Drak. So I was really nervous about meeting him. When I joined EG's IRC channel everyone greeted me. Lou asked me what "writer name" I wanted and I said my own was fine.
<Lou_Zeta> do you want to use Shar_Tegral as your EG name, or some other anonymous user? <Shar_Tegral> I don't mind using my name. <Lou_Zeta> ok, i will setup a Shar Tegral user for you <Lou_Zeta> and a e-mail address <Shar_Tegral> LOL... 'sides I've been roasted before for much more then EG could ever ask of me. <Morkt_Drak> Shar - do you fancy a nice little piece on the history of a Corporation to get your teeth into? <Shar_Tegral> [email protected] for immediate response. <Shar_Tegral> Haven't setup [email protected] yet. <Morkt_Drak> rgr <Morkt_Drak> ok on its way <Shar_Tegral> Rgr... <Morkt_Drak> it should make a nice interest piece tbh <Shar_Tegral> Reading it now. <Morkt_Drak> we can also probably add images and captions/sidebars if needed by making an article an actual "article" rather than anews-post <Shar_Tegral> Halfway through... good lord this sounds alot like much of what happened while I was in TTI to a great extent. <Lou_Zeta> ahhhh poor tti .. * Morkt_Drak smacks himself stupid <Morkt_Drak> goddammit im slow today <Lou_Zeta> had such a glorious future, but ...... :( <Morkt_Drak> shar.... <Morkt_Drak> knew i knew the name <Morkt_Drak> <--- has his thicko head on atm <Shar_Tegral> lol <Shar_Tegral> Sorry but i'm so used to you being sharp that I didn't think anything of it. <Morkt_Drak> Shar is well versed in being able to take flak Lou. <Morkt_Drak> we have few concerns in that area * Shar_Tegral is rolling on the floor laughing. <Shar_Tegral> That is very true.
That moment was special for me. And always will be. |

Edited by: DB Preacher on 13/09/2004 08:35:19 hmm, lots of proud moments in my RKK career.
Probably the biggest one would have to be when RKK left the NVA and went on to organise the NORAD/CELEST/DSIN/JF fleet to beat the F-E/RSA/c0d fleet in a massive battle in Fade.... something we could never have achieved within the NVA.

Well one that put a smile on my face was when I finally got into a cruiser (Omen).
The punisher pilots were in awe of it and it looked absolutely huge compared to them!

Edited by: EveJunkie on 13/09/2004 09:48:02 *Edit: remembered another proud bit :)
Proudest moment must have been when I was CEO of Lost Prophets up in Fountain just after the forming of the FA. Our little team of 8 dedicated pilots had managed to play a small role in forming the FA then a bigger role in defending it at every single battle call without fail we were there. I guess we impressed folk as in one week we got requests to merge with not 1 but 3 of the largst corps in Eve.
About the same time there was a bit of an argument going on about how some corps couldnt assist in FA defence as "they were too small and couldnt support PvP" and one of the CEO's (I cant remember who sorry) made a comment along the lines of "I'd take 1 LP pilot over 100 of any of you guys any day". I was really proud of my mates that week we'd shown that a little gang of friends could be important even in a large allaince. (We were the smallest corp too) Was nice being hot property and us all discussing who to join. And of those 8, 7 of us still play over a year later :)
As to who won, Evolution ofc.

Edited by: Scorpyn on 13/09/2004 09:38:40 Hard to tell, but one of the main highlights was when EVE Guardian made an article about the corp I was in at the moment (before we merged with Infinitus Odium).
Link to the post on these forums (as EVE Guardian seems to be down atm - and maybe never will be online again, as I noticed that Shar Tegral has removed the links in the siggy).
It's kinda sad that the article is about a corp that is currently inactive, but the MaDCaT spirit lives on

Easy. When I (together with some of my corpmates) where given Scorpion(s) all payed for by contributions from some very fine elements of NSN. All for a jobb well done within our corp (and maybe coz they were tired of us always swooshing around in small anoying ships). Also included one of the best stories ever posted on our boards.

Being the primary scout (for that battle) for SA in what is (Probably, around 175 ships in total) the biggest battle in Eve's history a few months ago. Warping into the middle of around 100 CA ships SOLO, dual MWD'ing past them - from in the MIDDLE of them - and reporting back there exact composition to SA.
Warping past 100 ships with at least five (thats as many as i can target back) firing at me and missing was a real buzz. The "person x shot and missed you" went on for about 5 minutes after I was well out of range.
CA retreated from that battle, obviously they went on to win and loose others, just like SA have.
Be lucky and be safe!

1.Doin this. 2.Receiving "The Cross of the Sacred Throne Order" for it, as well as some signed copies of Pax Amarria. 3.Realizing you¦ve never seen the inside of another corporation. Beeing CEO from start to end so to say.

Theres a couple I'm really proud of.
1. My first cruiser in Venal with TTI (it was a blackbird).
2. Being asked by Ragnar to take over as CEO of TTI when he decided to leave September 2003 (I declined and left TTI instead).
3. Being asked to be CFS Vice-President by then President Teister.
4. I'm proud of the fact I could leave Eve for four months when my RL fell apart and proud that when I came back I had and still have people say "good to see you Call!".
5. Starting Libertas with some RL friends. We're small and in empire but we have alot of fun. Thats what Eve is all about.
6. Making that first billion and being able to really just relax, help new players and buy whatever I want. It took a long time.
7. Sitting in the help channel or a newbie system and actually helping them and answering questions and hearing "Hey thanks man" when your done. It's nice to help. More people should try it.
8. When I returned to Eve I started a whole new character. He's now well known and respected and has alot of friends, money and happiness. He works hard but has a great time in what is probably one of Eves best all around corps.... as for Calladen its nice he's now basically an alt who spends his days sunning on the beach.

When I was a noob to Eve and I heard of 0.0 so I got a Bantam spent like 3 hours flying into the deepest palce in 0.0 I could find which happened to be Geminate. I mined a several peices of Bistok and flew all the way back and sold it without dieing. That was big for me cause back then I would be nervous to pass through .4 :)

hmm...
breaking my first mil isk (wooha , i still smile when i break 1mil today...err nm.)
getting my first cruiser (moa)
mining dark ochre for the first and only time in PF-346 in my badger to return with 129zydrine, (TEH WIN, extra points for having stavros open up in an apoc (i think) and live, and refining it in FD-MLJ)
getting my first battleship (armageddon)
one time i killed a guy 1v1 (raven vs raven), no gang issues or anything, and he complimented me on the fight, i had expected smack and that totally made my day.(wish that still happened..)
fighting with elisium dammar in empire against some rediculous odd fight and having both of us live through it, a great a guy and pilot, the forum post from the other side made me smile however
also fighting a 2v4 with niteowl, and taking no losses (even tho hes a weenor)
when some random guy /emote humped me in local....

and in general when pilots show respect to eachother which doesn't always happen so i get oogly

I've got two off the top of my head, both from ISD events.
One is ripping an ISD Vexor to shreds in about 5 seconds in a blaster-fitted Moa (odd setup, but effective) while its Megathron counterpart overhead was busy mopping up everyone else around me with 425mm's. Was a real rush, seeing the Caracal giving me cruise missile support go up while bumrushing a target, and while expecting to die at any time, killing your objective and getting the pod.
The other wasn't quite so glorious -- just podded some ROME guy in a Velator for looting cans from player battleships who'd gone up in the fight. Almost managed to get Devalon to give me an implant for the corpse. ----------- Fighting for the ideals of freespace, posthuman ethics, and rock & roll. |

Edited by: Tholarim on 14/09/2004 07:47:29 Hmmm good question drax, i think my proudest moment in EVE was 2 weeks after i joined OC. Me and my buddy back then Lethaltopgun just got into PvP and were messing around abit in scorps in catch/curse killing CA at that time .
My proudest moment was probably my first 1v1 kill in my scorp. It took a hell of a long time but i took down a Raven pilot while my buddy was killing a typhoon i think it was in the other end of the system. I can still remember the adrenaline rush

I singlehandedly mined 265mil worth of Zydrine and Megacyte with my 3 accounts in a single day. Two were haulers, 1 a miner, extending over a 10 hour period of time.
I gave it all to my corp :)

Id say the proudest moments I had in EVE would be as follows in order:
#1: Taking over the CEO spot in my first corp, I swear if real life hadn't bit me in the A$$ right after I might have done some real good for us... Truth be told it was a hard situation, and involved a lot of heated discussion, and really I considered it a truimph when I was able to win the popular support of the corp and get the CEO's blessing in the end. Even though I count this entire endevour as a failure, I don't blame myself entirely for that fact, and even if I did, getting that position really made me feel proud, I even went around telling friends who never heard about EVE what I had done and planned to accomplish for the corp. It was a great day... If a bit scary to have 2 dozen total strangers all depending on my judgement.
#2: Taking part in my first battles with my new corp EV... No I didn't chalk up a lot of kills, and at least one of them was cuz the pilot was AFK, But I managed to be an asset in my Taranus, and only died to a lucky cruise missile spamming crow on a much later date.
The first few fights I took part in, I was just proud to be trusted enough to be in the battle, and one day, when I was able to effectively secure a lock down a cruiser so my BS buddies could pound it I really felt a knot in my chest.
#3: When I got my first ship (atron) after my newb ship. I looked that sucker over from front to back for so many hours just admiring it and thinking about what I could accomplish with it, I simply will never forget how that felt. How proud I was. It didn't matter that it would get owned by most every other ship out there, it was still early after release, and only a handful of corp's were sporting cruisers after a few weeks after... I really felt on top of the world.
#4: When I went with my first corp into a section of space we didn't realize was owned by serpentis, and proceeded to set up home base... We went on a victory mining run, and struggled against ships that (at the time) where very tough (back when 0.0 belt rats wouldn't trouble a cruiser at all). i managed to take on 4 of them solo while my friends where distracted, and though I was down to 4 bars of armor, my little atron was really cookin... I felt like a god when someone finaly noticed my troubles, and just as they made the recomendation to have people come bail me out, the four enemy rats blew up one after the other from my ceasless assault. That was another proud moment.
#5: When I finaly joined the ranks of cruiser fliers, and took my thorax for it's maiden victory voyage around the system... I finaly felt like I had gotten something cool to fly that would get me some respect at gates heheh.
So maybe not the most inspiring or amazing achievments, but I did feel very proud, and it was those moments that made EVE special in my eyes.

Hmz i also have a few, but after reading all the other posts it looks small now
anyway, here goes: 1st when i was complimented about the setup on my megaT by the CEO and some of the guys from the corp that are really good at DS huntin and PvP (happened yesterday hehe)
2nd when we where mining in some .3 system, and i mined out lots of ore, and was able to donate it all to the corp, cause i allready had a dom. 2 guys out of the corp owned BS's after that day, made me feel good
3rd playing eve in general, and starting to see, im getting better and better, i can move tru 0.0 without shivering now lol ------------------------ Remember, my child: Without innocence the cross is only iron, hope is only an illusion & Ocean Soul's nothing but a name...

Tanking 6 CA battleships in my apoc making them run at last from 3 BS. Or back in my noob days when i hauled 36 mill worth of depleted uranium tradegoods to 0.0 (curse i belive) space 40 jumps in a indy and made my 6 mill profit.

One of my proudest moments was laying the final hit and destroying the only unique item in the game, The Gold Magnate. To my knowledge it was the only ship of itÆs kind.
However my favorite moment is when I traveled up to fountain with 4 other members of tlbc/c0w way way back in the pre-castor days. The four of us took on upwards of 40 plus ships at once. Fountain then released this thread congratulating our efforts.

BaH! You guys walked in after we (when I was runing CFI) got tired on a Sunday night breaking the long siege. After 3 days of defending that damned gate in to YZ-LQL. What followed was one of the nastiest wars Eve has ever seen (FE and M0O vs. FA. It was fun looking back on it. Our prize for defending FA was a nice kick in the ass. Allot of the people who defended FA back then fight against it now. Not me though I am in Stain now. I was the one who pushed to fight you guys the most with frigates and cruiser back when battleships were the $#1t. I guess my proudest moment was when we moved FE out after a 30 day war. What I like about MO0 is at least they are sincere enough to remember. The FA forgot in one day what those people guarding that gate had done for them. 0.o It's not you... no wait it is you. |

i got two.
#1. Being mentioned on the news for being the biggest donator of jovian bodyparts for the Gallente Federation. (as representative of the Gallente effort to collect as many as we could. and as a representative of Evolution who contributed about 1/3rd of whatI handed over to the Federation).
#2. Having moved PA out of Branch and finally "beaten" them in "the battle for BKG". Finally some reward for a lot of hard work. Because it's not just shipkills that makes me happy :)(this is my point of view, no need to respond)

fuse, read the link in my first post. I was talking about when Omniwar, Miz cenuij, Fairlane, and I went down to fountain in november of last year...before castor....before the war between m0o and FA.
but you reminded me of that war and i have to say one of my favorite fleet battles was a 1 hour 45 minute standoff that ended quickly with major casualties on the part of the FA and no loses to m0o. The bulk of that battle was recorded and can be found in m0os third major movie

Probably the biggest one would have to be when RKK left the NVA and went on to organise the NORAD/CELEST/DSIN/JF fleet to beat the F-E/RSA/c0d fleet in a massive battle in Fade.... something we could never have achieved within the NVA.

1. Helping to bring the lotto'ed Imperial Apocalypse home to the Emperor.
2. Getting my first battleship, and very nearly losing it on the first day.
3. Making my first million. It's true what they say about the first million being the hardest.
4. Being present at the infamous "Gank CEO" incident, and other anti-pirate operations in Sarum Prime back when it was a 0.4 system.

I was CEO of Knights within Castlegreyskull. KWCG.
Moved into a .4 system {was scary} Herbs and I went into the belts and met a few great guys that belonged to Nexus Corp. We started mining and helping each other.
WE moved into 0.0 in S-U in syndicate space.
Then we moved into Curse Space and Merged together as 1 Corp. and became Stronghold Corp. Became brothers and learned how to die and die and die then fight and die side by side. And became part of the strongest alliance in Eve and a proud member of C4 Alliance. To date this has been my greatest achivement so far. I am extremly proud to live in Curse space and can never see leaving or being anywhere or doing anything else.
Thanks EvilDoomer

hmm, after giving it some hard thought'(since page one of this thread to be precise), I'm gonna go with:
1. Being in ctec for a year
2. Joining Evolution after that
Killing some particular person or getting some particular mod doesnt hold an endless fascination for me I'm afraid. Meeting top people does, and I've met lots so far. _______________________________________________

I recall several little accomplishments that have really made me feel proud as I've played:
- accidentally accepting a kill mission for the first time while still in my Ibis, then going out there and actually completing it. - getting into my first Merlin and running NPC protection in early corp mining ops in 0.6: "omg, Ben's got missiles!" - reaching the million mark, first in isk, then in skill points. - having the biggest hauler in the corp (Badger II) for a few hours before a mate got himself a Mammoth. - getting above 0.0 sec status. - my first venture into 0.4: "omg, jaspet!" - my first venture into 0.0: "omg, hedbergite!" I also made it to U-Q on a dare and came back alive that day. - finding Arkonor, Bistot, Crokite and Mercoxit all for the first time on future exploration missions. - getting into my first Moa. - mining Ark in 0.0 for the first time. - clearing small 0.0 spawns with a Caracal so I could get back to mining said Ark. - being invited to Deklein to learn PvP and discovering TeamSpeak for the first time. Being the subject of local smacktalk for the first time after being podded! Yay, I'm a statistic! - my first assisted PvP kill, tackling a PA Scorp with a Griffin and coming out alive. Seeing my name on a kill mail for the first time! - my first fleet battle, flying the same Griffin into Venal one weekend alongside a bunch of name NCA players. Probably the most fun game experience I've had yet. Helped pin an Apoc that day before being struck by a stray Paradise missile... - getting my first BS, a Scorpion. - leading a corp gang into our first group 0.0 NPC hunt, my Scorp, 2 cruisers and 2 frigs vs whatever Sansha's could throw at us. - finding my first safespot. It was only a Vigil, but hey, I still found it... - my first solo NPC battleship kill, a Sansha's Beast Lord (this was just last night!)
Some of these achievements had been prior goals of mine, like the first frig, first cruiser, first BS etc. Others I never imagined getting myself into (a fleet battle, HELLO?), and in most cases, each achievement to me is probably bigger than the last.
Of course there are still several other things I have to experience - a solo PvP kill would be nice, but I'm not really holding my breath.
