Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else.
I'm getting shadow flickering on large objects such as the stations and jump gates whenever I look at them.
Im using a Radeon 5850 with driver version 12.3.
My other mate also gets this problem but not sure what card he uses, I'll update when I can ask him.
I'm sure someone will suggest to turn shadow |

also having a sim issue but with certain textures flickering, sun, gates, stations some times there fine other times its so annoying
im using dual amd 6870's
any help would be ace |

Just spoke with my mate, he is also using a Radeon card and having the issues.
Maybe this is a Radeon problem and not EVE related.
Anyone with a Nividia card having these issues? |

CCP can we get some response on this, 5 people now reporting this problem over a varied GPU range. Must be a game side problem.

I've experienced the same problem, and use two AMD 7970s. Seems like the game isn't playing nice with non Nvidia cards in this situation. |

If you look a few pages into the General Forum thread about performance drop with the new missile system, you will see that a GM asked us to submit bug reports of hardware used and driver version when we spotted the shadow flickering issue.
I have not seen it for a few days so I am waiting till it reoccurs before I report, but I am on a 5870 1Gb and drivers 12.4 and got it.
Is there a reliable way to recreate it on demand? |

This post was created a week before the Inferno expansion. and so far I haven't found a way to force it to happen, best bet is to leave frags open and record as soon as it happens. |

I already opened a bug report several days ago, surprisingly I was the first cause they said they hadn't heard about it.
Description:
Tranquility - EVE-EVE-TRANQUILITY - 7.41.377452
On certain Stations/Objects there is massive shadow flickering. Ati Radeon 4870 12.3 catalyst. Problem is intermittent. Docking/Undocking and warping back to the station a 2nd time was no shadow flickering. Difficult to reproduce. The Sun will also sometimes flicker.
Other people are experiencing this issue as well, it could be an ATI issue - https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=108957
Shadow Quality set to Disabled has no effect.
My brother has Radeon 6950 and my laptop has an ATI 4200 and neither have this issue.
My brother has the exact same setup just different video card and no problems. I don't know why.
I have Interval set to default, Catalyst AI disabled. Triple buffering in OpenGL, High Quality Textures, High Quality Mipmaps, Ansiotropic Filtering Optimization disabled, Trilinear Filtering Optimization Disabled
I usually play in Fixed Window Mode as opposed to Fullscreen - I've gotten mass |

I found that disabling the shadows stopped this from happening, but I want the shadows lol. Its a feature, and one that isn't working correctly. As you said very hard to reproduce the effects, mostly on Stations, stargates; anything really big that casts a shadow, it seems as though it is getting lighting sources from every angle. I play in fullscreen mode and still get the problem, even with the new 12.4 drivers this problem is still there. |

I'm having similar issues with flickering - especially near the top of my screen - with an AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1GB card. Hoping it's fixed soon. |
