So, I was playing with missile effects on the test server, and while they are a lot nicer, I have a few issues.
1) I would like the penalties for using t2 missiles to be removed.
2) The trails for the different damage types are too similar, at least with the old missiles their thrusters had a different color.
3) the explosion effects for the different missile classifications are too similar. Torps don't even have their shockwave effect anymore. These effects were helpful strategically because you could account for what type of missiles were being fired at you.
4) It kinda bothers me that torps are fired from stationary, non-target tracking launcher points. While i'm willing to tolerate this, it just seems weird that an unguided missile doesn't have a target tracking launcher.
That's pretty much it. |

Having unguided missiles in space is just bad lore to start with. Change the description and its good to go. |

I have always viewed it thusly:
Unguided missiles: Do not maintain a link to your ships guidance and tracking computers and must rely on the relatively crude onboard systems they can pack into the missile. Thus they are short range generally speaking, and are not affected by ship rigs that enhance their properties.
Guided missiles: Maintain a link to your ships sophisticated guidance and tracking systems, and are capable of much more accurate, longer range flight. These capabilities can be enhanced by the proper rigs on your ship. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

Now if that was the desc, I could live with it. Specially reconfirming that rigs cant be used for them for newer players. |

This.
The penalties were removed for guns, why is it still there for missiles? |

Because missiles can't miss.
Now, I'm not against removing the penalties, but I AM against the notion that Missiles = turrets, and the notion that Missiles do not have inherent benefits that turrets do not. |

Now if you said ship penalties, I might agree, but all would be a no. |
