Well I'll be darned tootin'!!! I have been an avid reader and participant of the corp forums for over a year as many of you know. I have seen many colorful figures come and go. Some went to other worlds in search of greener pasture but others vanished as if Jovian pimps in search of non-gender specific love-slaves abducted them never to be seen again...
As I sit here with a year's worth of readership experience and spout vague thoughts at you (I gather you know what i'm talking about) These active and colorful entities are made to vanish and what used to be enjoyable is now nothing more than a frozen corpse with which I would mount in my hangers body locker. All that remains is a slowly disappearing handful of denizens.
So when I and others say in so many words that this forum sucks buttnuggets then please lend an ear. We need not see the color fade anymore.
Peace out yo...

This thread is pretty borderline, but I'll let it stand for now.
What is or is not enjoyable reading material is in the eye of the reader. But the forum rules however are not. Follow those rules, and this can be a quite enjoyable forum indeed.

Edited by: Sun Wu on 14/09/2004 07:57:20 I think the main change over the time I've followed the forums came when the game went live, until then this place was on another level in terms of post amounts, thread lenghts, well thought posts and so forth. After retail came it slowly turned into something abit smaller, with people doing recruitment threads on one side and discussing politics on the other side. From before retail the change is that politics now are actually tied to ingame actions.
The connection to real stuff means you get more emotions from people attached to waht they are posting, and you also get a whole bunch of people spewing forth lies, inaccuracies and personal opinions that at best make you laugh when you read them. To each his own. There are always the rules as a line out there, you cross it and you can expect things to happen. And yes, while it sounds bad to some people it's frankly none of our business what goes down between the mods and forumgoers in regards to a situation, as the rules quite clearly state. Atleast not on the forums. Send emails or whatever if you wanna argue but I really doubt they'd comment on anything regarding their choices in the case of another poster if you ask them, those choices are things that according to the rules atleast are meant to stay between the mods and the person in question... ________________________________

Well my friend,
This is all very true. But let us do a what if situation.
What if an excuse was being sought to justify an action?
And say a person was asked would provide the excuse needed for that said action can happen.
This of course is all circumstancail and has no bearing what so ever on the current situation. -------------------------- Vist the Jericho Fraction Forums

Even if an excuse was being sought out to justify an action, it would still not be any of our business. The rules(link can be found to the left under Forums -> Rules) also state :
Warnings and bans are not to be discussed on the forum. Such matters shall remain private between the CCP and the user. Questions or comments concerning warnings and bans will be conveyed through e-mail or private messaging. Likewise, discussions regarding moderator actions are not permitted on the forum. If you have questions regarding a post or thread, please contact [email protected].
And putting that aside there still is a simple line that the rules make and regardless of how you look for justification you still need to have a poster cross that line made by the rules before a mod could do anything. As I said people connect with the forums with feelings, for many the people posting here are also ingame characters that they act with ingame, and as such there are pretty high feelings attached to the forums. That doesn't mean though that we should abandon some rules when a situation comes where people feel they need to voice their opinions on something that really isn't their business. All these "free so and so" threads really have no place here, if you have questions or so on mod decisions they have that email in their rules, so people should just take advantage of that and leave the corp forum for corp related chatter. I prefer to read people whining about how we've defeated PA over stuff like this afterall... ________________________________
