Hi all,
I'd like to announce and release to you Charactr.
It's a web-based skill monitor, planner and notifier. The notification framework allows you to set up notifications on both your mobile phone via SMS and email for a number of skill training events, with support for plan notifications. So you can get stuff like "Ix Forres can queue (Next skill in plan) now!" on your mobile, and so on.
The planner and monitoring tools are as you'd expect, and fairly full-featured.
This is getting widespread release in the next week or so. For this developer forum thread though I'd like to throw in one interesting point: We're looking to open up the notification system, including the SMS functionality, to developers with our own API. The SMS framework in particular is complex and difficult to maintain for independent or smaller developers, and just not feasible for portable/open-source projects, as it requires payment systems and a SMS gateway, so we reckon that allowing other applications to send SMSes through Charactr would be a great way to allow more apps to take advantage of mobile devices without requiring custom applications on phones.
Anyway, have fun and, as ever, feedback is always appreciated. |

It's a pretty big list...
In a short while (try in ~1h) there'll be a tool on the site to let people try their number and see if it's covered. -- Ix Forres EVE Application Developer ISKsense | EVE Metrics (NEW) | I Tweet |

You, sir, are awesome. This is exactly what I've been looking for, and it's even better because it sends SMS. I've got two minor complaints (or rather, feature requests? =P)
1. For some reason the site seems extremely slow, generally. Unusually so. Like to the point that I'm consistently timing out at the moment.
2. I was trying to make a skill plan (already have skill monitors up the yin-yang, but the skill planner is spiffy) and couldn't figure out how to add skills to it.
Now I haven't had much time to mess with it just yet (just created my account and now it keeps timing out on me) so those are my experiences from about 30 seconds of messing with it. Still, assuming it ever lets me back on, I am very appreciative of this app.
