Dear Pilots
I am sure that many of you have been noticing the adressbook bug in game thats been present for couple month in game..
Lot of you been sending petitions to ccp but the replies we getting is that 'we are working on it' or 'we dont know the cause of it but we are looking into it'. Not being stupid but how long will ccp be giving these excuses?
Surely they must realise that adressbook bug is not only affecting the corp warfare but also their server side where pilots keep reloging into game just to make sure wartargets are online therefore puting more pressure on server!
Lot of people are exploiting this bug so why dont ccp fix it? It seems that every time they release a patch there is a new bug present surely in such game as eve they be more focused on testing new patches before upseting 50000 people! By end of the day most of us subscribe therefore we also expect standards...
Yeah well some of you will say if you not happy with it leave well that is not what I am looking to do I am just pointing out that ccp should adress the bug complains abit more efficiently and focus on testing patches more! Thats why there is test server...
I would like to hear feedback on how other people feel about it... This bug mostly affects corps that do alot of wardecks... The only way around it is checking local or reloging...
For those who are not aware of this bug let me break it down... Once you at war you tend to add your wartargets to your buddy list, now when someone logs on we know they online but when they go offline around 80% of time it wont show it will still say that pilot is online...
Looking foward hearing your opinions...

They should make the Buddylist a 2-way thing. So in order to add someone, they have to accept it.
No more buddy list spying. We already have the "auto-accept convo if person is in my buddy-list"-option, so CCP knows how to do it.
Make it happen.

It's been this way for as long as I've been in game (nearly a year now), and according to some corpmates, the bug dates back to day 1 of the buddy list.
Would be nice if it got fixed, but tbh, you just need to adapt to it. I just double check targets by removing and re-adding them to the buddy list before I go after them.
Intel goes both ways anyway. The buddy list is even more useful to the defender than to the attacker.

Hmm its not a bad idea but not practical one! Have you considered how more sophisticated the wardec will be? we would need to have a special dedicated spies to actual keep track of enemy..Who would volontere for that?! sitting and jumping through sytems just to find somone online? Ofcourse you can run locater agent but then again its not practical if you fighting 30 and up member group! It would not work because you it would be way too time consuming and inacurate... |

whine whine complain complain. -5 for the post of you need to learn to adapt to EvE, and -10 more points cause your name is in caps and you are probably an alt. you know relogging fixes this or better yet, ask someone else who has similar friends/intel list and ask them before going out looking for them. *gasp*

Which is the idea behind it, youd have to actually do something for your easy kills.

Indeed I agree you do get out and search for your enemy but you do it if they online otherwise you not just waisting your time by assembling fleets and searching for people that offline but also waisting time of other people!

Can't blame him. Sure they look cute and harmless from far away, but have you ever looked really closely at one? Very creepy bastards, and that's not even taking into account the evil.

What I actually meant is that I sincerely doubt that the buddy list was designed as a tool to collect info on your enemies and should stop being used in this way.

The CSM could probably raise this with CCP if you asked them, provided it would serve their [the CSM] own interests and self-agenda peddling.
