Will Strafe

Edited by: Will Strafe on 09/06/2009 11:34:30 Salute foes and friend(s). I¦m flying a Blarpy in Caldari FW, and I¦m not sure I¦m where I want to be with it. What troubles me is that I think I have heard that the Blarpy can reach dps above 200, but I¦m sitting on 137 in Eve Fit.
I¦ve been looking around for Ship Guides here but there's no common link to different ship builds as far as I can tell.
I have Small Blaster spec at IV, and the support skills at V. Fit is:
Lows:
Micro auxilliary powercore Overdrive injector II or Nanofiber II (Not sure what's best here)
Med:
Corelli C-Type 1 MN AB Fleeting Propulsion Web Faint Epsilon Warp Jam Med Shield extender II
Highs: 4 Light Neutron Blasters II (fitted with Null) 1 Prototype Cloak (Cramped in as the last fit, nothing else I can put here really)
Rigs:
Auxilliary Thruster Anti EM
I¦m at 1067 M/S, 203/218 cpu, 74,6/75 power.
Is there something I¦m missing with regards to DPS, it¦s "the best" blasters on market as far as I can tell. No Mag stabs as the power core is needed and I¦m too cramped and using speed enhancer. I could ditch the cloak in fleets as it¦s just a filler and fit a Mag Stab II. But it¦s not going to take me above 200 dps surely? I'm also trying to keep at decent defensive/offensive speed as I¦m with an AB, not a primary tackler.
I¦m using Null since I get +5.5 km optimal and 3.5 km fallof. The idea is to stay out of cruiser blaster range, while locking down their MWD and thus dictating range. Thusfar with succes, only real 1 on 1 test was with a Thorax who rushed to me and found himself caught in a trap.
But am I in the wrong here thinking my dps is too low?

Edited by: Kessiaan on 09/06/2009 11:43:42 Drop the cloak and fit something useful, like a magstab. If you're going to fight fit to fight, if you fit to run away you gimp yourself, be it stabs or a cloak or whatever. Anyway, a magstab adds about 20% DPS - that'll get you over 200 easy.
Also, check your ammo? CN AM is the standard in a Blarpy fit, that or Null. Lastly, is this fit before overheating or after? You can get another 15% DPS out of it via heat.
EDIT: Also was monkeying with EFT since it's DT - if you drop down to ions you can fit on hybrid rigs (Hybrid Collision Accelerator / Hybrid Burst Aerator) and get about 10% out of it over neutrons without damage rigs. |

But loosing it and fitting Mag Stab II, and changing from Null to Caldari Antimatter puts me at 211, an improvement I didn't expect tbh.
I go down to 984 M/S, but I guess thats pretty secondary. If I may ask as a newbie, can I even orbit at 2.4 km and keep this speed. Adv cpaceship Command at IV and Evasive Maneuvering at IV too.
And if I go down to Ions my orbital will be even less. I'll be humpin people instead of fighting them.
How bout tracking, skill is at V.
I¦ve always had difficulties with very close range since it seems to confer a range of practical problems.
But I¦m gonna take the advice, and have extra Null if a Thorax shows up I guess. And I found out the other day I can¦t overheat yet. Went and bought the skill but I need another skill trained to V first. I guess it should be high priority.

Aaand you're right, bonus affects only ships that need the skill. Well thats nice I thought I was getting cheap maneuvability from this one. |
