CCP, is there a possibility that faction tower bpcs will be reintroduced to the loot tables? Perhaps with new building requirements. |

this deserves a reply The American public's reaction to the change was poor and the new cola was a major marketing failure. The subsequent reintroduction of Coke's original formula, re-branded as "Coca-Cola Classic", resulted in a significant gain in sales, leading to speculation that the introduction of the New Coke formula was just a marketing ploy |

From what I remember they were removed because CCP said they couldn't control where they spawned. I don't think it was ever about the recipe. All faction towers required a non-faction to build on top of the mineral lists. It wasn't cutting out the PI system. They seemed worried that someone might get one in High Sec but as that was never really an issue before I don't know what they did to make it one when they decided to axe them. Even back when they were dropping they were rare enough that a large went for almost a billion. To this day a medium goes for 500 mill, what it went for 2 years ago so either they really weren't that popular to begin with or they are in fact, still dropping, somewhere. |

Id pay a billion for a large faction tower. They go for 3b currently. |

I know guys with 5 or 6 in Corp hangars. I have one myself. Usually when things go for much more than their stats justify, I sell them but in this case I really don't see CCP ever bringing them back so it's something I want to hang on to. Much the same as my POS Mod blue prints. Not only do I want to keep them, I want to keep them as bpc's.
In the matter of Faction POS gear, I think you are seeing the last of it for a very long time. If anything I expect to see Navy versions in LP stores before we see pirate factions come back.

Its been what, 2 years at least now.
If CCP wasn't wasting their time three knuckles deep into Dust (can't wait for it to die a flaming death) - some of these issues might have been addressed by now. |

It happened around the release of Apocrypha, when wormholes were added and something was changed about loot tables.
I've never seen an official response from CCP for why they stopped dropping, but I imagine that since they are looking to revamp POSs, we won't see anything done about the issue. |

Alright to clarify the real reason they were removed, and its too bad, since I don't have the link from like 6-12 months ago.
But CCP stated how alot of hi seccers would own facion POSs and there was no way for anyone to destroy them. CCP hated the idea of giving out faction tower BPC and no one would blow them up, and would be used by carebears with no risk put on them.
I know this sounds like trolling in the latest mining buff, but this was quite awhile ago.
So for them to be reinstated into the game, a way to keep faction towers out of hi-sec or at least be able to blow them up, would have to be invented. I will not be voting in the CSM election, so you need to go vote to make up for me. |

I really doubt that it was because of highsec. I had a faction tower in highsec, and it didn't stop people from wardecing my corp to attack it. The small and medium towers are fair game to wardecing. The large towers are the ones which take ages to kill. They could just stop people from anchoring the large towers in highsec. |
