If people think the ganking in EVE is bad, they never played Diablo 2 hardcore, Lineage (the first, not the second, and the macro farmers there was bloody deadly having their defensive cartels) or a couple of other older MMO's. Some of them you couldnt exit towns without being instagibbed.
EVE, having the PvP possibilities and reputation it has, is actually pretty 'friendly'. Through the MMO history I'd say it's definately on the more evil side, but gankwise it's far from the worst.
The gankage factor in EVE was alot worse when I started off. Spoiled kids of today.  |

It would be quite fun if CCP did something like reducing the effectiveness of Orca and Exhumer stats by 90% in highsec. |
