You want immersion? It's as immersive as you want it to be. Sorry you don't have the energy or the creative willpower to do more with this incredible game than follow the bouncing ball that WoW gives you. If all you're doing is mission running then complain about the lack of content then you "don't get" EVE. Have fun in Disney World. I'll stay here with the big boys.
My precious little missions? What are you talking about? I do faction warfare, wormholes and low sec pvp, or did do until it got boring. I run missions on the side to make cash. It's very interesting how you decided to apply some sort of sterotype though, maybe you werent even consciously aware of it. From the way your post is worded, I can see that you feel that PVP is in some way superior to any other gameplay style. Further more, your reference to the "big boys" out in pvp leads me to believe that you assume that only the unnacomplished, or too new could be the only people not to join you out there. It's all very narrow minded of you. As for EVE being desgined a PVP game. I'll leave that to the developers to decide. What I do know is that high sec is most populated, missions are the main cash gainer. On the side there is mining, complexes, exploration, wormholes, trading. None of which have to involve PVP at all.
Saying that EVE is as immerisve as one makes it is a cop out. It's an easy one liner to throw out there which arbitrarily assumes that the player (me in this case) has made no effort with the game, or just isn't capable of understanding it.
Let me clarify, you have absolutely no idea what kind of person I am, or to what level I have played this game. Your automatic assumption that I must be some kind of ignorant wow player is a rash decision, and to be honest it's just too easy for you. I mean that basically, it's the only conclusion that allows you the least amount of discomfort. It's much easier for you if I were that way, because then you woudln't have to think about or challenge any of the points I raise. To be honest, this is the default that most people on this forum seem to adopt. Something difficult or challenging? Simply call them a troll, stupid, or point them towards wow. After all, it's easier than taking on board another opinion that differs from your own, or worse, even points out where you perhaps got things wrong, and may have been doing wrong.
tl;dr as they say? : you seem ignorant, and it makes you look silly.
I agree with this post in so many ways. I thought EVE players were supposed to be patient? TL;DR? I thought you would be patient enough, especially when his post isn't that long at all.
Not that I completely agree with the OP's points, but I respect he has an opinion and I personally like to play another game on the side because EVE doesn't offer a lot of content constantly. Yes, the people are the content, but that means it's unpredictable, even in whether there will be any content at all. Sometimes you just log on, see that nothing's going on, change a few skills, log off to play a different game. Then sometimes you log on and are playing for hours because there is a lot of action. |
