Well there are two options.
1) You swim.
2) You like men.

You want to vax the legs instead. It may hurt a bit, but if you got lots of dark hair it will look really wierd when it grows back and you'll have to shave it every other day. The wax takes the hair out with the root so the darn thing has to grow back and that will take maybe a few weeks.
Good luck :D

Uhm, I don't shave my legs but I fail to see how doing so would magically turn me into a homosexual when I wasn't one before...

It is?
None of the goths I know shave their legs. Other parts yes but not legs.
I don't have a problem with anyone that does, but it's not something that I do personally.

Men occasionally shave their legs for sport - most generally swimming/cycling (Apparently cyclists shave their legs to avoid getting chunks ripped out of them if they hit the tarmac.)
Now, I don't know about the "goth scene" - whatever that is. You kids have all sorts of subcultures these days, from cutting yourselves to wearing fox ears.
Regardless, if you have no friends or all of your friends already shave THEIR legs then I guess its fine. If you frequently go out in public wearing shorts, it may be unadvisable. |

Except for surgical or sports-streamlining purposes, it's just plain weird. And goths are also weird. Goths shaving their legs are weird x2. -------------

Edited by: Delta Ecks on 17/06/2009 09:30:51 I shave my legs. Certainly not normal; but it's not like I'm making a statement or anything, I just dislike body hair. Although truthfully I am wearing jeans 99% of the time when I'm in public. To be honest though if you are worried about what people think you probably shouldn't do it (unless you are trying to attract a certain demographic of female) because on average people would probably view it as neutral or slightly negative.
Edit: To those that say so, why is it weird? |

It is weird because you dislike what is a natural part of your body. That is an abnormal behaviour. |

Not so much ripping out, but rather preventing infection from hairs that get caught below the skin as the road-rash heals up.
At any rate, the OP's post ain't a big worry. Wants to shave his legs? Go for it. Noone's gonna be able to tell. Some guys have hairy legs; others don't.
Probably should be more concerned about hanging out with guys who make it an issue to examine his legs, for telltale signs of shaving, with a magnifying glass. |

Of course it is.
Ignoring all biological and genetic programming, merely shaving one's legs will magically override all that and turn one into a raving homosexual.

If a guy shaved his legs and wasn't a keen cyclist/swimmer etc, My first thought would be that he was a tranny or into the bondage/fetish scene. That's turned out to be the case so far anyway, on the few occasions I've noticed it with friends/acquaintances.

I did that once since I was going to be a marble statue in a music video, project got derailed when some meddling clown stepped in and winged it when the director had to leave set for a while but not before I had shaved.
You don't want to do that, it's cold and not at all pleasant growing back. |

Depending on your female target "audience" and amount of hairiness it may be worth getting rid of the hair (not everyone likes Mr. Bear you know). The main issue is just that you'd need to wax if you want to get it done properly and have to shave certain areas manually (tried waxing my balls once - only recommend it to masochists). Just doing legs and leaving everything else is rather useless aswell imho - either fully de-hair yourself or keep it all natural. :V
Fat and pale guys like myself do not benefit from it at all by the way and it's more of a "Californian party stud" thing.
We should really make a picture thread out of this. ._. |

So *that's* what you were on about in that other shaving thread. I kid, I kid.
But you know what? I totally agree. No sarcasm. There's too much obsessing over "the need to shave" your whole body these days. And the results look both dull and uninteresting, to be honest.
Girls end up looking like Barbie dolls, literally. Shallow, plastic looking skin and all (who ever decided that is sexy looking? I sure didn't have a vote). I guess it's a sad consequence of the even sadder obsession with glamour, lately. At least here in Sweden.
As for men shaving their legs and what not. If it's what you want, by all means do it. Just realize *why* you do it. If it's only because of outer pressure because of some fashion fad, then perhaps think again? Same goes for the ladies. |
