Overview; just came back after a month away.
Jumped into my rax, went down to 0.0 and got podded like usual (by npc's, i drive a cruiser you see)
And after a whole month i still didnt want to spend the time to fly around to 5 stations and 30 jumps to buy equipment to do the same again. Its just boring. CCP, why not include a star trek teleporter thig AKA the jovian jobbie, whereby i buy what i want and then pay through the nose for it to be delivered to me?
Its really sad to me that to have any chance of exitement as opposed to agent missions i have to spend so long traveling and so little time fighting. *shakes head sadly.

Well, that would be your own fault wouldnt it ?
Try building what you need, or buying it in bulk for once and having it delivered by the manufacturer....
A reserve stock oftenly means you get to clonejump back to base, pick the next BS thats sitting there setup and ready, and undock to join the fight again right away.
Being in a corp helps there, but it's just as doable on your own. _______________________________________________

I have a complete reserve stock back at base, plus money to buy it all anyway... but that is still sucky as it does limit the scope of an individual players operations.
I know they want the game corp based and i am indeed as a corp, but this delivery option would make the game much easier to dip in and out of. Travelling is sooo dull.. plus if a thorax isnt available in the region you are at... you just have to fly like 10 jumps randomly to go to another region or thereabouts and check there.. its not an appetising prospect.
I doubt if anything will be done, and its sad for me as i really want to like this game like i used to but i just cant as traveling is boring and it has to be done so much for mundane reasons. You know, its not "game like" its "life like".

Yeah i know man but that still doesnt work as well as it could..
1) there is no guarantee that some sucker will take the mission, and if its a long way away when i really want it then its even less likely.
2) i dont know when they are gonna start to bring it if someone does take it.
Ideally on the buy screen it would be as it is now plus another option underneath "teleport to your station x isk"

Think that's what Interbus is supposed to be....don't know when (or even if) they will introduce it though.

the trouble with players transporting other player's stuff is that either the little reward isn't worth the boring travel, or the price is so high (to make it worth it for the transporter) that the person that want's stuff transported needs to be verry verry rich :p afterall, you can earn millions with just sitting in a safe little system poking a roid, why would you want to risk more for less reward while doing somthing even more boring...
currently recruiting euro players. |

I'd have to agree, spending countless hours running 'errands' is a bit of a pain considering it's a game. Not sure how this affect the dynamic of the game...who knows, might mean more PvP? ------------------------------------------------

Look, in my opinion, disregarding having social stuff in Eve for a minute, the difference between Eve and a frag-instarespawn-back into pvp kinda game is that it takes WORK to be able to do the pvp.
Imo, that's what makes this game tick, the pvp is too limited in itself to make it interesting enough. Eve is good because it forces everyone to think, prioritize, work together and do stuff other then fitting guns and shooting everyone alone.
Even with me interested in pvp mainly, I do see that Eve without mining, hauling, producing and even agents would be a damn dull game. _______________________________________________

The beuty of teleport aka transport is that it would take travel out of the game without taking any of the choices out... travel is a necessity but you might fancy producing or doing agents, its different.
Teleport could cost more over larger distances and so for the folk who produce there would still be rewards for doing it in odd places.
San.
P.s if somebody from CCP is reading this is this interbus planned for the game?

So if i get this straight, if i would be able to destroy a wealthy players ship after a long and very lucky fight, he just docks and pushes a few buttons and poof, there he is agin asif nothing happened. His wallet wouldnt even dent and the same sh!t happens again and again if i manage to stay alive that is. Now the mining op he was attacking would be fubar for instance. I have to think twice before i ever would agree to the teleporting stuff idea. Your ship got blown up then to bad. Go get a new one and learn from your faillure so it doesnt happen again.
The enemy of my enemy could be me. Loyalty is not written in a bio |

************* The teleport idea would cost more than flying around yourself. a time delay could be put in of an hour or two... that way just leave the game and come back rather than meaningless clicking on autopilot **************
Your ship got blown up then to bad. Go get a new one and learn from your faillure so it doesnt happen again.
************* Therin lies the real sad thing; my mistake was going 20 jumps away from my base to go into 0.0. if id have stayed in 0.4 or 0.2 id have been fine...
My mistake was to be adventurous, the forefit of which is to potentially spend a good few hours to buy the items that i need as replacements. This isnt fun. As has been mentioned before there are shortcuts to be taken to circumvent this game mechansim but they do not enhance the game, they mitigate its shortcomings.
I REALLY would like CCP to tell us what their thoughts are on this.
Further to the guy who ganks... well its not going to affect the trade routes much i dont think, as the trade routes are inbeetween the main empire 1.0 systems and also the 0.0 systems with ore. (the travel the teleporters would stop isnt on trade "routs" its in random directions from random locations) Yes i do admit that it will infact effect gate gankers and make it less profitable, but EVERYBODY at the moment has to float around space like the old lady on a saturday buying new clothes while only a few of us gank gates!... as spock would say the good of the many outweighs the good of the few.
