Had this done to us in low sec a few weeks back, sitting at a snipe point off a gate and a pilgrim uncloaks and tackles one of our snipers. Fair enough we think, we can uncloak our emergency falcon and jam for the warp off before his mates come through the gate and warp to him. Imagine our surprise when instead a widow and about 20 assorted recons and bombers pop out of nowhere right around us.
Lets just say it wasnt fun and gave me new respect for black ops as tools for the sneaky people.

The reason being that when you bridge that 20 man gang of stealth bombers in, the target in local knows immediately because of local.
Remove local and blackops is actually worthwhile. While local is used as an information gathering tool, blackops are completely uselss.
Hint: it's usually a good idea to tackle the target before opening the cyno. It doesn't do the target much good to see local spike when they've been tackled by your cyno Rapier and a gang of 20 bombers just appeared next to them.
Hm... This sounds like it could work very nicely

Thats what I thought too, it seems the whole idea is broken because of local... |

Why do people repeat the same objection after I've already answered it just a few posts ago? Is your attention span really that short?

BO gang= 1x BOBS, 10-20 SB, 1x Arazu, 1x Rapier, 2x Falcon, 1x Tansport. Add as many cov ops as available. Enjoy.
Recons tackle, BOBS bridges dps in, 5 secs later everyone is cloaked and reading the km. |

Here's a Black Ops question...
Covert cynos are invisible, except to Black Ops.
Does that only include Black Ops in fleet, or any Black Ops in that system? Can a local Black Ops pilot tell when someone has crept into the system and set up a covert cyno? |

This situation should be accompanied by a system wide OMNOMNOMNOMNOM sound effect, for added LULZ!

I wonder if the devs would at least consider delaying pushing the sudden appearance of ships that traveled through covert cyno to local? This would make black ops really live up to its name I'd reckon.
So to elaborate, make it so that any player that comes into a system via covert cyno- their presence will not be pushed to local for a certain amount of time. Like, give them 20 seconds or something.
The key is we need a way to stop local from spiking to help justify the high price tag on this ship
Granted, I have yet to travel through a black ops with a gang. So my opinion only worth 1 ISK here. I hope to be within an Arazu within next 1.5 weeks (waiting on recon 4, etc) so will actively try to get gangs together to utilize this
