I'm going to be running a ton of low-level missions (levels 1-3) that I'm looking to get through as fast as possible.
Currently I fly a drake for 3's, and an Ishkur for 1's and most 2's, however while the drake's tank is superb, the DPS is severely lacking. And the Ishkur is nice and fast, and packs a punch, but has next to no tank.
So I'm considering going for a heavy assault ship, or a different battlecruiser to hopefully speed through these missions a bit faster.
Any suggestions? |

Zealot, Cerb, or Sentry Ishtar sound nice, though i don't any experience with them. |

A passive shield tanked Ishtar works great. Carry 5 lights, 5 mediums, 5 heavies and go to town.

Fit a drake setup that doesn't suck would be my best suggestion to you.
If you don't want to go that route, an AML Navy Caracal is frikkin awesome, and it won't lock you out of any lvl 2 mishes. ____________________ CCP: Catering to the cowards of a cold, harsh universe since November, 2006. |

since you already fly drakes i would just change up your setup. Try going with 3 BCU's, and a couple rig rigors or a TP. You should still have plenty of tank but start pwning stuff more quickly.

My Navy Omen sails through level 2s. It can carry 5 light drones, which the Zealot can't.

Pulse Zealot should have the fastest time on amarr 3s and probably 2s as well. Destroyer will probably be the quickest for 1s, or maybe a ganked out ranged AF. Minnie missions you're probably looking at a cerberus (lololol) ganked to the max.

Drake is best Caldari Myrmidon is best Gallente (these two tie for best overall)
Hurricane is the best Minmatar (By the time you can use it as a full gank setup you could be running 4s, otherwise it'd be first)
Harbinger is the best Amarr but doesn't make a great PvE ship ***************

This is easy.
Ishtar plain & simple.
Aggro everything then go make yourself a cup of tea. Or pack some sentries for more hands-on fun.
Fit drone tracking & afterburner in the mid. Put a cheap perma-armor tank in the lows & you're good to go.
For the harder level 3's use the afterburner to orbit the npc swarm out of optimal when you go afk or those cruiser swarms can give you a nasty surprise when you come back.
Otherwise it's pure easy-mode (and overkill ).

I haven't had any problems with a tach/ab fitted phantasm so far in 1, 2 or level 3's. Bit overpriced but fun and quite speedy. |

I use Ishtar for all missions 1-4. Passive shield tanked, with tractor and salvagers. Lights, Mediums, Heavies.

That's because you're fitting it wrong, or you have crappy skills. The Drake can put out superb DPS even for L4's. Obviously if you're fitting it to be a turtle you won't have much DPS. |

I think what they're trying to say is fit some BCU IIs in the lows and go to town. vary depending on the mission and toss in an Invulnerability Field to reduce the amount of swapping of hardeners. |

Most HAC's are good for it. I myself have preferred to use Cerberus for that in the past. For L1 - L2 with light assault launchers and for L3 with heavy launchers. Caracal - if you are low skilled - works also altho I would not take it into L3 in that case. When low skilled Drake or some other BC is reasonable. |
