Which is better? Looking at the vital statistics, the Moa seems to have more capacitor, shields, cpu, power, med slots. Rupture has one low slot more, 200 more armor and another missile launcher. Granted you can mount any turret on either, so which do you guys suggest? I'm a minmatar, but can study either skill...
Also, I prefer to go medium range, too close and I tend to lose tract of the extra guys, too far and it's boring.
Thanks

Moa is better against npcs.
Nice shield boost bonus, range bonus for 250mm rails.
With engineering 5 and eletrical 5 you can fit 4 250mm rails and 2 arbelest heavys w/o pdus/rcus.
I get 30+km optimal with AM, Iron rounds can hit carcels trying to missile spam me at max range. It's a good ship.

I say Rupture. Have no evidence to back it up but to say that you are a Minmatar and should (in my opinion) use Minmatar ships. I know most of them are under rated, but I'm having fun with them. - Bunny is not currently here. He is on a SpecOps mission to kill the leader of a small third world country, the first step on the road to world domination. |

both ships are excelent to use in PvP and NPC combat, i personaly use the rupture and armour tank it for npc, that frees up the med slots for more usefull kinda mods

My preferences would be to shield-tank the Moa and fit long range guns, or armor-tank the Rupture and fit short range guns and MWD. But I'm not that big of an expert.
Lose track? Use scanner for targetting, show Entities, sort by distance, show size (so you can select cruisers first or whatever).

Though my headless chicken picks off cruisers before they're in heavy missile range. ----------- Fighting for the ideals of freespace, posthuman ethics, and rock & roll. |

imo, the Rupture.
With the right skills it can be set up to rip through NPC BS (all types) with ease. It is also very versatile in the roles that it can adopt ie for PvP, again with the right setup its a frigate/inty killer....
With that in mind though i dont have any experience with the Moa, i do know that with its recent increase in mass that its lost the edge on its accelleration, still, by all accounts its a good ship (though butt ugly) :).

Either ship in the right hands is a monster.
The speed advantage on a Rupture and its ability to armor tank (allowing mwd usewithout inhibiting defense) gives it an edge for controlling range, and since you're not a fan of either sniping or fighting in close I'd suggest it for you.
Putting an mwd on a Moa is murdering its shield-reliant defenses and it armor tanks about as well as a Maller shield tanks -- it just doesn't work. I even tried it to be different and warped out in a steaming pile of Moa FlambŪ half a dozen times before giving up.
That plus Minmatar in Minmatar ships does sound right. ----------- Fighting for the ideals of freespace, posthuman ethics, and rock & roll. |

Thanks a lot, I'll try the rupture out. I assume armor tanking is just equipping high power armor repair kits? Never tried this, but I will in the future.

Armor repairers and armor hardeners. You'll need both, with a cap recharger or two in the medium slots. Makes for a good, tough ship.
Though I guess this should be left to those who've actually flown one to get specific on. ----------- Fighting for the ideals of freespace, posthuman ethics, and rock & roll. |

Havent flow a rupture, but in pvp battles rupture seems most widely used and are quite good when i confronted them.Moa on other hand i have fought only few times and they were fast to die.Not sure if it was coincidence or rupture si really better in pvp.

no one remembers De Rupture has the 600m3 drone bay A MUST in dis time wif all the interceptor and frigs people thinkin dey supaman screw dat caldri junk ship, looks like a lego set gone bad
------------------------------------------------ Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly - the ill deeds, along with the good - and let me be judged accordingly.
If this world was supposed to be friendly CCP wouldnt have wasted time paying the devs to code so many weapons |

like fetty says ^
the 600m3 drone space give it the edge over the moa in both pvp as well as pvc. u can armor tank rupture, fit long range guns, and use the drones/missile launchers for the short range frigs.. simple concept but very effective! and besides that armor tanking is more cap efficient then shield tanking.. even with the moa-bonus Its not enough to succeed. Others must fail. |
