Kail Storm	Posted - 2009.06.19 00:46:00 - [1] Ok guys i recently got into a fun argument with my buddy who says my solid HM drake with 3 shield resist rigs and 2 invulns and 7 Arbalast Heavy launchers wouldnt have a chance against his Can setup with 5 dual 600mm or 650 i forget what exact autocannons and good buffer tank as well. He said my drakes DPS could never beat his tank and eventually he would win, but with reading about dropoff rates in the other "Mim ships need overhaul" makes me think its over rated alot. My question is 2 parts What ship in most scenarios [i know eve as tons of chance etc] will come out on top say 70% of the time a totally badass Drake, or badass Cane? Also what are the winning conditions needing to be to do so. Next is what other BC`s can whoop 1 or both of these and explain why? Next is Best overall PVE it seems to me [Not whining that drake missles really do suck at damage etc for what it is, sorry i really do believe in powering missles and mim ships problems but i spent alot of time upping Cald to realze it seems to be inferior to the ammarrs lasers or gals drones/ Blasters. I dont wanna supercharge just make it equal but differant. for both pvp and pve. Ok what is best pve and why and what setup or slots makes it the "next level" BC? Sorry bout spelling im at work its just a hoest question who if need be will become ammarr but i dont wanna wreck others fun. So overall best PVP and why in detail and best pve HP/DPS/Time is the winner. Also i want a whine, what is to unfair awesome weapon and what is worst and unfair ships and why?

He could've given a bit more reasoning as to why you should stop posting tho. If you're going to continue posting here please try to keep your questions limited to one or two per thread. You're asking too many different questions to get a good answer to any of them. I'll give my opinion on the thread topic (best BC) tho: Drakes and Myrmidons are the best PvP BCs. Myrms for their flexibility and Drakes for their impressive tank/DPS combo ("Gank" Drakes, NOT PASSIVE DRAKES). Harbingers and Hurricanes are also good ships when used to their strengths tho so I'd have to say the BC class is one of the most balanced in EVE overall.

And its very scary to post because of peeps like you, But you all on the forums seem to be the smartest so i ask. How many new threads have you created in the past week? That's too many. How many times have you related EVE to real life? That's too many. How many times have you asked the MOST TIRED questions in the forum such as "which BC is the best for xyz?"? That's too many. The forums are here to help, but you need to do several things first. - Check www.eve-search.com FIRST to see if your question has already been answered - Clearly state your question - Include necessary information such as skillpoints, usage of ships, experience etc For anything not included in this post, refer to this video.

Back em up with some Scimis or Basi and they rock. honest. And none of that HAM crap.

Honourable mentions to the Brutix and Harbinger for when you absolutely, positively have to throw 800+ dps onto a target and don't care so much about lasting forever. To be absolutely honest though, BC's are the best balanced set of ship in game and you can do something useful in any of them (Yes, even the Ferox and Prophecy, really). Yes but alot of the posts are old and since im new and dont know when this infamous missle nerf happened I thought the older threads were not as relevent. Im sorry they are long but i want to tell more so you have more to speak on. Hurricane 220's with 2 med neuts (plated/gank)550+ dps 2. Myrm with Ion Blaster II's (shield buffer/gank)800+dps 3. Harbinger with Foc Pulse (plated/gank)600+ dps 4. Drake with HAMS (shield Buffered/gank)

If you're in a gang you'll probably be ignored a bit when flying one so you might as well gank fit it with an 800 plate. It's ofcourse not a real strategy to have your friends shot first but gank proph deals decent dps tbh. Self-proclaimed idiot

That is why Harbinger and Hurricane are good in gangs. HAM Drake can work too, except it has a lower ability to run away but that is compensated by a stronger tank that can help it survive to jump through gates to escape. If you are solo 1 vs 1 a BC, you need to fit a scrambler and high tank yet some decent DPS. Both Drakes and Hurricanes can do this. It comes down to the fit really. My 2 ISK

I make the argument that most people assume every drake is passive and thus leave it for last. Your drake doesn't actually have to be passive to get that effect, it just has to be a drake.
