Tonight within CRC we had an important and livey discussion about Bond, James Bond. Wrangler and me favour Moore as the best actor, Kieron shocked us all into silence when he revealed Brosnon to be the best Bond actor.
So now all moderators are too scared to bring up the subject again within our tiny little division its time to hear about what the rest of you thinks. I adored Live or Let Die and think Robby Williams would be a good 007 as well.
Discuss!

Hey now, before I'm drug to the stake and burned for a heretic, I could've said the best Bond was one of those two unmemorable blokes between Connery and Moore!

I would like to make the following statements, for public record:
1) Brosnan was good in Remington Steele. He should have stayed there. 2) John Cleese as Q is the only good thing with the later Bond movies. 3) Roger Moore did a good performance in Cannonball Run, but was later OMGWTFPZNORBBQ'd by Connery on the Bond role. 4) Robby Williams as 007 would be... well... I'd prefer Scrooge McDuck to be honest...

Best line:
Golfinger: "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die"
Best Bond:
Sean Connery
Best Bond Movie:
Dr. No
My choice(s) for next actor to play 007?
Jude Law. Vinnie Jones (it will never happen but imagine James Bond under an 18 certificate) Jason Statham.

I think only a woman would dare to suggest turning James Bond, the pantheon of manly macho butch films, into a musical.
It'd be like remaking the Magnificent Seven with Boyzone.

Ok also tell who played Bond in the first Bond movie you saw. Mine was some movie with Roger Moore so for the longest time he was my favorite Bond.
I don't really like the old films as the acting is poor, visual effects lame, storyline the same old Bond storyline. I can't really remember the movies before Brosnan as they all just blend into some mess and I can't tell which scene belongs to which movie.
Well here goes anyway.
Best movie: Tomorrow never dies Best song: Thunderball (Tom Jones), A Wiew to a Kill (Duran Duran) Best actor: I guess Sean was pretty cool but I like Brosnan and Moore to. Best Bond girl: Ursula Andress Can there be any doubt. Future Bond: Always kind of liked Jude Law. __________ Capacitor research |

Robbie Williams still has to mature a bit, but of course he would make a good Bond actor. Don't judge him until you have seen him in a leading role
Hmm, unpopular opionion, gotta distract the audience:
Anyone else heard the rumors of Quentin Tarantino directing the next Bond movie, with Uma Thurman as villainess? That would rock

Best Bond will always be Connery with Brosnan a close second. Lazenby was useless, Dalton was wet, and Moore was a joke.
As for the next bond i suppose Dougray Scott is a reasonable choice, but my preference would have been Jason Isaacs. --------------------------------------------- Engineers motto; If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway. |

If only those bastards at Remington Steele had let him out of his contract.. then we never would have had to suffer through Dalton. Blah.
Best Bond? Moore was my first, so he's sort of my default Bond. Brosnan second, cause I knew he was meant to play Bond when I first saw him on Remington. Connery was good, but I prefer him as a Russian submarine captain.
New Bond? Jude Law would be good, I think. Ewan McGregor might be up for it once he's put on some years and Pierce is old enough to be put to pasture.
Best Bond (groaner) line: "Oh James, you always have been such a cunning linguist."

Edited by: Leitari on 23/09/2004 02:04:07 You guys are treading on a very volatile subject. In my opinion Sean Connery pwnd as bond but Pierce was pretty good at it as well. Timothy Dalton brought something into the bond sequence that I thought was missing, the darker side. In my opinion, bond is supposed to be a bit more darker and thats just what Timothy managed to display.
There is no best bond movie, they all r0x0rz.
As for the future, I think its time to let this secret agent have his glorified death. Sad to say but lets face it, all things must end sometimes.
I've heard about some plans where they intend to put a younger actor into the role of Bond, all for the money making machine (to reach the younger viewers). Its a bit sad I think, but we'll just have to see whats coming wont we?

now, that's a difficult question. always loved bond movies, but my preferences changed with age...
best actor - i liked brosnan very much, but i'll stick with moore - he was bond of my childhood :)
best movie - i'm gonna shock u: On Her Majesty's Secret Service :) saw this movie just once when i was kiddo, and don't remember anything about it, but one thing i remember is i enjoyed it like hell. second best would be that one with grace jones and moore as bond fighting a weirdo named zarin or stg like that... don't remember title:)

Sean Connery was THE JAMES BOND hands down.
Connery defined studly, he defines suave and debonaire, he defines the guy who is gonna take you down---HARD, and the most important thing is that he makes it all look as easy as a Sunday stroll. He makes James Bond unreality a reality because the man is so well grounded and got his stuff so together; you can't help but to believe that the world is a better place 'cause JAMES BOND really is out there.
Connery was a man's man. As a boy you looked up to him and said to yourself, "I want to grow up and be just like him!" and as a girl...(fill in the blank).
Roger Moore is good and so is Pierce Brosnan, but they are GIRLIE GQ MEN compared to Connery.
If Connery had Super Powers you know he would take down Superman and Mighty Mouse put together ok?
The best bond movie thing is a toughie. Dr No and From Russia with love had that cool related storyline...but Die Another Day was the first time I ever so Bond FALL (I am waiting for the other 6 signs to end the world right now) and I have to admit Brosnan...pulled that off. Sean Connery set the standard, Roger Moore did it the best, who is George Lazenby? , and Pierce Brosnan made it a lot of fun.
I love the quantity and quality with which they break laws of physics in those movies Example: Goldeneye opening scene where Bond jumps off a cliff, dives into an airplane, then regains control and pulls the airplane out of its power dive at a ridiculous angle?
Worst Bond movie was A View to a Kill, definately. I like the idea of having Sean Connery be the next evil evil bad guy. Raymond Drake Weaver of the Dream DreamScape Corporation DreamScape Digest Editor-in-Chief |

It'd be like remaking the Magnificent Seven with Boyzone.
u may be a maken josh but u r funny
best bond is connery by a mile best movie for me goldfinger
best line is from goldfinger when bond comes round with ***** galore introducing herself and bond replying "pinch me i must be dreaming"
I picked up this ace book today everyone rates it as a must buy for the budding military genius, tho ive decided to rename it as "Sun Tzu's art of the bloody obvious" |
