I dont know about the rest of the ppl that play this game but i am starting to get extreamly ****ed at the ore thievery and ore destruction by ore thiefs thru the transfer of ore to their jett cans and then destroying them. CCP dont want to do any thing to stop it, Or atleast it seems that way. Concord is hell bent of protecting criminals that take and or move other ppls ore in to jet cans that they own and then destroy it KNOWING that concord will fu**ing protect them. by destroying the ship that they stole from should they attack. I am getting very close to shutting down my account because of this seriously ONE SIDED problem as it is causing more head aches than the game is worth.

I think this will be fixed in Shiva because opening or shooting someone elses jettisoned can is meant to either trigger a CONCORD response and/or make the miscreant criminally flagged.

I removed the caps from the title. If you want more information about ore thieves I recommend reading the Crime and Punishment section of this forum.

Hardly an appropriate response to his post, imo.

Meh i'm just tired of people whining about something they deem a "problem" when infact CCP has stated that its legal AND have given the player base a way to combat it. So you want something thats not all mean eh Josh, ok. Use secure cans or mine in to your hold ffs.
Better?

man, I'm as anti-ore-theft as anyone. but man, its easy enough to avoid these people. mine where NPC's spawn, (ie: .8 or lower) even in jettison cans, this is much safer, FAR fewer people mine even in .8, than in .9 and 1.0, and this means less people for the theives to prey on, thus they don't bother.
Ore theivery is NOT a "legitimate" profession, but it IS an utterly lazy one. take advantage of that. trust me, once your at least in cruisers, it should be NO effort to be able to mine safely in .6 or .7, and the comparative abundance of scordite to higher, is worth it alone, the fact that ore theives pretty much don't ever go in those areas(as far as I've ever heard of, at least) makes it that much better.
mining into a jetcan is FAR more legitimate than ore theivery. but its easy enough to avoid the ore theives.... nust gotta try,

Wow. What a load of complete crap.
Firstly Ore thieving IS a legitimate profession as is scamming. Why? Because CCP says they are. Thats enough for me.
And LAZY? Do you realise how much work it takes to make a decent profit from stealing ore? Have you ever stolen ore? I don't think so.
Typically an ore thief will get one indy load, maybe two off each operation equalling about 1 million in profit. Usually you can suprise only one operation per system because miners will call you out in local. You don't typically find mining operations sequentially system after system so you have to search many systems. Saturday last week I made 5 million in 8 hours of playing. If I been mining I could have made 3 times that much.
If you have a corporation, people will declare war on you, meaning that every jump thereafter in your defenceless indy might be your last and you may be podded anywhere in the entire universe.
In short, Ore thieving is low profit, high risk, hard work thats definitely needs a boost for it to be more attractive to professionals rather then the 2 day old alt smack talkers who do it presently.

If this the case I wonder what would happen if some people got serious about ore theif and flew like 10 or so indies through out systems stealing ore. A organzied group doing this would prove that their is a problem here. take the ore drop it to a partner(s) in front of the station and head out for more, when the supply dries up move to another system. After all it is legit, no ?
