I do not own a PS3, nor am I any good with FPS games. That said, I am invested in PI and my corp owns a few POCOs.
Given that DUST will take place on planets, I would imagine that I will be interacting with the DUST players in the future when the game is released.
Is there any information out there on how an EVE player might prep or skill in order to best interact with DUST players when the game comes out? Will there be new skills that one needs? Or is it too early to ask specifics like that? I don't make minerals. I just make ore 20% cooler. |

I saw an Eve video with a Moros lighting the hell up of some building from orbit so I figure it'll be kinda like that. Supposedly the dust bunnies can also use orbital defense guns to gank you |

Has it not been implied that at some point, dust console players will have the ability to interact with us pilots, come "walking in stations"?
I was under the impression that a lot of the contracts could or would be worked out between console shooter "clan" captains and Eve corps in the player-owned "bars" on stations. |

As if EVE space jockeys are going to put their now 5-PLEX Dreads in the path of console kiddie guns... What could ever be so valuable on a planet that pilots would throw ~2.5B ISK worth of spaceship away? I have not yet seen a good answer to that question. POCOs and PI installations certainly aren't worth that much ISK on a per-planet basis and the risk of losing a dread over a couple hundred million ISK worth of stuff is simply too high.

I have not seen much in the way of specific, and I don't think much in the way of specifics has really been given out.
So, that said, I don't THINK that there will be any existing skills that will need to be trained, per se (although I suppose some might be useful?). New skills may be added - orbital bombardment or some variation might be useful, if it is implemented somehow differently than exiting skills. |

I would hope you could support your colonies in a more modest ship.
Perhaps defending an individual colony isn't worth the risk...but a dedicated merc team could take out your entire base of colonies and thus control the production (or lack there of) of PI resources.

Ive heard that dust players can be in the same corps, using the same chat, as eve players. There can be all dust corps, all eve corps, or mixed corps.
Also at Fanfest they showed Dust players calling for an orbital strike. Apparently the eve player needs accept a contract and get a targeting code from the ground troops before they can fire. This prevents the "lets just nuke them all from orbit" scenario. I assume that the contract would not be needed if the dust players are in the same corp as the eve players doing the bombardment. One could see battles happening simultaneously on the ground and in space between two corps.
Now my question: Eve players supposedly will want to have Dust players conquer planets. Why? Whats on the planet that an eve player wants? Its not PI, supposedly that will not be part of the Dust conflicts. What is the benefit of conquering a planet? http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

Currently fuel prices for a large pos cost you 600mil a month without sov so that little PI-fuel farm of your is pretty much worth a dread once you get the fuel steadily coming. Also it's possible that DUST corp will be needed in order to install orbital customs gantry in the first place and they might even be the ones that get payed taxes for allowing it to be on 'their' planet's orbit and since this is a co-op with EVE; they need EVe corp to shoot it down if there is a one in place already and well you get the drift.
Lots of possibilities there of which many won't be happening until DUST has been around long enough to have a steady player base. |

The tears of console pubbies of coarse. I can only imagine the hilarity of 250 men CFS dread fleet jumping in and leveling planet after planet in one siege cycle. I hope there are means to destroy DUST player from orbit, otherwise its pointless. |

Heard rumor that you will have to "Liberate" planets to take over sov. Not sure how true it is, but it may be alot of the justification for conflict and fielding of ships to defend planets. Please stop asking for new stuff "Cuz it's neat".-á

They say there will be sub cap bombardments. Fanfest showed a BS I believe.

You wont have to but it will give an advantage vs a target that does not have Dusters in Corp or contracted to defend it.

it's going to tie right into 0.0 sov warfare. You won't be able to ignore dust. I think it's a brave move that will shake things up.Sov warfare has sucked anyways. Why dust 514 is on Console and not PCBattle field 3 salesXbox 360: 2.2 millionPlayStation 3: 1.5 millionPC: 500,000 |
