My corp has standings with Roden Shipyards of approx. 7.8, and Gallente Faction standings of more than 9.0, but when I try to use this agent:

He says he can't help and I need to find someone down the corporate ladder to help.
I have the skills to perform research in his area, but my personal standings are 100% neutral (0.00 to everyone).
It was my understanding that it was corp or faction, or personal standing that could be used, but can anyone confirm this? Do I need to raise my personal standings?

Yep it's just your personal standing, corp or faction standing wont get you talking to agents.

Player corporation standings have ABSOLUTELY NO RELEVANCE WHATSOEVER towards any agent access, be it regular agent or R&D agent.
The standings mentioned in the agent showinfo are all PERSONAL standings (toward the agent's NPC corp and the NPC faction the agent's NPC corp belongs to).

The language in the Agent Info window could definitely be a little more clearly written on this point.

Here's an example
For the Agent "Ya Alhunaya" Ishukone Corp, Caldari Faction
"You need a minimum effective corp standing of at least 4.90, in addition to an effective faction, corp or personal standing of at least 6.90 to use this agent"
This means you need to have a personal Standing to that corp of 6.9 to use that agent
If you have Caldari Faction Standing of 6.90+, then you only need a 4.9 to that corp to use the agent.
The standings of your Corp towards the research corp have no effect AFAIK.

This means -you- must have an Ishukone standing of 4.90, as well as a 6.90 for either Caldari in general, Ishukone, or directly for Ya Alhunaya.
But all of these are your standings. Your corp does not factor into it at all. |
