Sounds like you need one more than the other (it's not the setup). |

{lecture}The usual{/lecture} The following fit is stupefyingly lol and will cause a laugh on the killboard of anyone who catches you. However, if you reeeeeally don't plan on using this for PvP then this fit will tank any NPC attacker with the probable exception of a Sleeper swarm or level 5 mission. I chose this setup because it requires minimal skill relative to a cap ship. You don't even need T2 modules. I feel almost dirty.
HIGH remote reps for your drones heavy energy neutralizers
MID capital Shield Booster shield boost amp shield boost amp invulnerability field invulnerability field photon scattering field cap recharger
LOW capacitor power relay capacitor power relay capacitor power relay capacitor power relay
RIGS capacitor control circuit capacitor control circuit capacitor control circuit
Even with no skills at all, not even the ones needed to run the modules, it still tanks 1600 uniform damage for over seven minutes. With maxed skills it's cap stable with a 3362 DPS tank at over 55% and has high resists across the board. |

Well im kinda looking for a pvp setup... OR a good FLEET setup I can use to run lvl5 missions....
Actualy I really need a setup to run lvl5 missions. Im highly skilled so tech2 isnt a problems in almost anything.
I just have no idea where to start on fiting this carrier.

I can't really help with level 5's. I know most of them zap your capacitor but I don't know how efficiently they do that against cap ships. A passive setup can achieve 60-80% resists with a cap-free 440 DPS recharging tank without rigs. No idea if that will work for 5's though, and your capacitor recharge is slowed to a crawl by the shield power relays.
Basically for PvP you want a higher tech variation of the fitting I had in the first post. People may argue about how many resistance amps or boost amps to use, but the goal is to have a cap stable setup. Some people even use two shield boosters. Chimera in theory has the best local tank of all the Carriers. I'm an EFT warrior only when it comes to this but I can't figure how the double booster setup benefits you over the cap-stable multi-amplified boosts of one CSB. |

You've got that backwards. A fleet setup would be used for PVP and a solo setup would be used for lvl 5s. Either way, if you're not with a group of people who should be answering this question for you then you're going to lose your ship.
[Chimera, Fleet] True Sansha Capacitor Power Relay True Sansha Capacitor Power Relay True Sansha Capacitor Power Relay True Sansha Capacitor Power Relay
Capital Shield Booster I Shield Boost Amplifier II Sensor Booster II, Scan Resolution ECCM - Gravimetric II Photon Scattering Field II Invulnerability Field II Invulnerability Field II
Capital Shield Transporter I Capital Shield Transporter I Capital Energy Transfer Array I Heavy Energy Neutralizer II True Sansha Large EMP Smartbomb
Capacitor Control Circuit II Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I
Cap stable with all highs, sensor booster, eccm, and resist modules running while receiving 1 reciprocal cap energy transfer @ lvl 5s. 1hr of cap with more realistic lvl 4 capital remote energy/shield transfer skills.

Replace the remote reps/energy transfers with Drone Control Units for your lvl 5s and change the ECCM for a cap recharger II. Find a nice busy system so the pirates kill you at your initial cyno-in rather than having to wait for them to scan you down in a mission.

Edited by: ArcDragon on 25/06/2009 21:49:26 As a former level 5 Chimera running pilot, I can tell you how it will be.
You will occasionally get away with running a level 5 without incident. In fact, even if you shield tanking skills are not all that plus a bag of chips you will still do them with ease.
Here is the rub. You must do them with a PvP setup. At a minimum this includes one FACTION smarbomb in highs as well as one warp scrambler in mids. The smartbomb keeps the drones off and the warp scram ensures the bastards stay put while you are popping them, and they WILL pop, just as long as they can't warp off.
Keep Heavy ECM drones and Web drones. Be aware that if you have your fighters set to follow then a hostile ship with POS access can wipe out your entire fleet of fighters by warping to it with your fighter in persuit.
Don't hang around the entry point, that's where all the bad guys warp to. Move your ship away, like out of scram range kind of away and make the NPC scramming vessels your first priority.
KEEP YOUR HEAD ON A SWIVEL!
For a level 5 mission SOLO active setup:
x3 cpr x1 damage control II
1 cap recharger II 1 cap shield booster 2 cap boost amplifiers 2 invulnerability field II 1 warp scrambler
2 cap shield transporters 2 neuts 1 smartbomb
x3 cap control circuit I's (II's if you can afford one, but that makes ship loss dramatic)
Without your api key, I cant give you an optimal fit. Contact me in game if you want some more help. |
