I didn't know they knocked you out of warp, I wasn't around for this you understand but I have heard that missiles used to push you away. I also heard that you used to be able to dump massive amounts of drones, and fit numerous MWD's. |

Edited by: IonHammer on 27/06/2009 13:54:42 Yes i remember when cruise crow ruled the skies and blackbird caracal combo was most feared, and missiles did knock you off alignment so you couldn't warp out so fast. Before pos's. |

We used to do corp races, fit as many MWD's on a ship and see how fast we could go. -If the enemy is in range, so are you- |

i remember the days we had 3 classes of ship, frigs, indy and cruisers. There was no 2t, no POS, missions went to lvl2. if you had the power grid and it would fit you could use it 100 AB;s, torps on a kestral, as many drones as you could carry and had skill to use.
Then at weekends it was watch for the notice of more players logged on than last week, first mile marker i remember was 5k logged on ( it was a sunday afternon aqnd the servers crashed right after the message came up)
Oh yeh there was no rookie help channel, scamms where well thought out, there was no isk sellers. If you could make a 1m in a evening you was GOD.
First real scam was the T2 Miner2 mod, cost about 20k to make, sale price 4m each plus 4 mega ( they had to be ordered from the only corp that had the BP)
Them where the days |

Technically, they never knocked you out of warp.... but they would bump you around which could totally screw up your aligning for warp. CCP took out the bumpage factor because of the mass amount of petitions from people who lost their ships ratting (or in PVP) simply because they were aligning for warp for 10 minutes.
And yes, I still have a cruise fitted rifter floating around somewhere... if I didnt sell it off with an alt or something. This signature space for rent |

Oversized AB serving as an MWD was better.

missiles used to do splash damage, and would explode on anything they hit.
So if u die to a torpedo and another oen comes and hits your can, boom your pod goes too. was fun in 0.0, not so much in high sec :)

Ah yeah, the good old days of getting Concorded out of the blue cause some hauler in 0.0 finally came out of warp on the gate you droped a whole lot of mines at.
And when a Geddon decked out with Duel Heavy Beams was just a Evil thing to run into.

I remember the days of:
Projectiles rocking so good, people started putting 8x1400mm guns on Apocs.
Lasers being so pOwned, that Minmatar pilots put tachyons on their ships.
CONCORD went haywire and killed people when you jumped into certain systems, no matter what the sec status.
Sending 20+ battleships into a system created a total LaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaG fest.
Yeah, putting 100 mn AB's on my old Rupture. Saaaweeeet ! Or better yet, a Stabber.
Tanking sentry guns, for EVER, and gate camping Pator and Yulai, killin nOObs.
Yes, I do remember Kestrels being UUUUber ! You saw a Kestrel, you had to make a decision.
Yes, missles screwed with your alignment. That's why people flew Caldari and/or missle firing ships.
Now those were the days. Tell the newb who doubts you to pay up for his/her history lesson.

Yeah... I remember when I first got into corp stuff and found out about pvp (oh, the noob days), the cries and nerdrage were about campers sitting off the grid in torp-fitted ships lobbing volley after volley at high-flow gates... they'd explode on impact with the gate, and the splash damage would kill anyone warping in, then pod them, before they even loaded the system.
I also remember when inties came out - I was like OMYGAWD T2 SHIPZZ!!111 and trained for them... and then, years later, figured out that it might be good to train to use a MWD. lol.

Dual mwd ravens just lobbing missiles at everything and then running away. Missiles that did the same amount of damage every time they hit, but they were slow and you could out run them in your inty/ frig/ dual mwd ship. Missiles that had flight times of several minutes lol. ECM having set number of jam points, multispec was 4 if i remember correctly, and all you had to do was have more points than the target ship to jam it. Cycle jamming was the pwn. And who can forget my personal favorite the Gankageddon, vaporizing ships in about 2 seconds. And also light neutron blaster 1600 plate 8 heavy drone thorax. heh yea we need to have a roll back to castor, would be tons of fun. I seem to recall a age long ago when you'd appear at some random location within a system after jumping through a gate. Am I imagining that?
I definitely remember the days of Observator probes with 90AU scan deviation. I still have many super-safes all over New Eden that are hundreds of AU from any celestial object which were made with the old Observators. You'd scan for your own ship, get a hit 80-something AU distant, warp to it, lather-rinse-repeat until you were hundreds of AU away from the sun.
