Hello folks,
I am relatively new to the game but I think i have the basics down.
I chose to fly amarr ships and do combat missions with them. Currently flying an Omen doing level 2's for Theology council. I am in need of advice from some veteran mission runners for some things.
What would be the recommended ship progression for me?
I was thinking about prophecy for level 3s and apocalypse for level 4s with paladin as long term goal. Is this a good idea?
Should i use pulse lasers or beam lasors for missions in general? Maybe a setup or two?
Since I would be missioning in amarr space what corps should I be missioning for?
I am not asking for you to tell me all your secret spots (although you can mail them to me in game ) just asking for an arrow in the right direction which corps are considered as a waste of time. How you choose a good corp to run missions for?
I am not lazy to do my research so consider this question in a sense of "What makes a npc corp a good one and what I should be looking for?" when picking one.
Thanks in Advance

Harbinger is much better than the Prophecy.
You'll want to be able to use both beams and pulse I would imagine because some missions will be close quarters affairs and some will be long range.
Can't tell you which corp to run for.
For agents see here: http://eve-agents.com/
What makes a good corp to run missions for, in my mind, boils down to two things. First, do they have a high quality, level 4 agent in high sec space that never sends you to low sec? Second, do they have LP store items that are in high demand?
Hope this helps. |

As a ship progression:
L2)Omen/Maller (Arbitrator if you have good drone skills) L3)Harbinger L4)Apoc +T2 gunz & Scorch L(after that you can try Abaddon with Tachs (AWU IV at least i think)
As for which corp to run missions for... (check your PM)

For ship progression: Sir Zzang said it well. In my case, I discovered the Arbitrator late in mission running (I was already doing 4s in an Apoc), but I really enjoy that ship. If you plan on getting drone skills elevated, you might consider getting into an arbitrator sooner, even though it may slow down overall progression to lvl4s mission. Its a great ship
Amarr corps? Theology Council is good. I would recommend Imperial Navy, their lvl4 hi-sec admin agents give out a lot of combat missions. Also, Sarum Family - they have a decent lvl4 combat agent in hi-sec. |

I recommend the Harbinger with Beam Lasers for Level 3s. Then go to the Apoc (with either beams or Pulse, depending on your fit), then the Paladin with Tachyon IIs. |

Level 2: Omen is good. Maller is better.
Level 3: Navy Omen or one of the BC's. Depending on what you want to do and your style, use which ever one you like. The Harbinger is a good beam laser boat. The Prophecy is a good pulse laser boat. I like the maneuverability of the Prophecy. The Harbinger is a tug unless you fit it right.
Level 4: You can use a BC for some level 4s. For the true BS missions, the Apocalypse is a good ship. It tanks well and has a devastating DPS with T2 beam lasers. The Armageddon is very slow but with Tacheons, it is very deadly. Both will require the use of Drones to take out frigates. Frigates will be virtually impossible to kill if they get close. Make sure you are trained to T2 Drones before taking on missions with a BS.
I don't recommend mixing your weapons unless it is for a missle launcher or a nos/neut. |

lvl 3: Harbinger lvl 4: (N)Apoc or Abaddon with beam fits, and Paladin asap.
Beams are better for missioning because you can do more thermal damage over longer ranges with them. Dont forget fitting a tracking computer though :)
Best corps for high-sec missioning: - Ministry of War - Ministry of Internal Order - Theology council

Harb for lvl3s. Apoc (although I've never flown it) if your skills are mediocre or Abaddon if your armor tank, cap and gunnery skills are good. Mega Abaddon or a Tach Abaddon rules.

Arbitrator is great for the L2 missions once you get the drone skills, but Omen or Maller is okay to start you off.
Prophecy or Harbinger (whichever you can afford) is ok for L3.
Apocalypse with T1 megabeams for L4 missions until you can use T2; upgrade to T2 megapulse when you can. (With T2 scorch crystals, you can fire 70km with pulse!)
