Not me. Sure it's fun, but EVE's a sci-fi simulator, not just a spaceship simulator, and I for one am looking forward to when we get the rest of the universe to play with.

This is a blatant pulicity attempt for DUST, lureing people who have heard about eve online to thier new shiney shootemup game.
Now if you ever needed any proof that CCP were far more focused on DUST then EVE this is it. Trafficing possible new eve players towards dust.

Hi All
For those who have been living in their ships with their communications turned off for far to long 
EVE & Dust are the same universe and there will be (Well CCP is hoping there will be!) a lot of interaction between the 2 sets of players.
EVE players/ corporation/alliances will be able to hire Dust players/corps/alliances to takeover/destroy another EVE players/ corps/alliances Planetary Holdings
While the defender will be able to hire his own Dust mercenaries to defend their PI
As well as EVE players will be able to orbital bombard the stuffing out of Dust players on the planet where a battle is taking place. While in a future expansion Dust players will be able to blow EVE players ships to bits that are in orbit around a world the battle is on.
EVE Fanfest 2012 - Dust Keynote
For those who want to cut to the chase the Orbital Bombardment Real Time Demonstration starts at 21mins 30secs
So EVE players will have a direct involvement in how Dust will evolve.
One discussion at Fanfest even postulated a Future where Dust Corps/Alliances might be able to hire EVE players to help them launch their own invasions of other EVE players planets for their own gain.
Hence the New Dust entries.
Later CCP stated that there might be also be an expansion that means items manufactured in EVE might be sellable to Dust players & vice-versa
But as someone who tried Dust at Fanfest. I am afraid it just proved I am to old for a reflex based first person shotter. So I wont be buying a PS3 to play Dust myself I'm afraid. |

Secondly, same universe, on two completely seperate gaming systems, lets be honest, its 2 seperate games, and should be treated as so. Ok there maybe in the future "if all goes to plan (tm)" there will be interaction, but isnt there also interaction on say battlelog between xbox, ps3 and pc with another online fps game, being able to view other peoples profiles nad comment etc. so this is hardly groundbreaking. |

That's a part of upcoming DustBunnies EVE expansion.
DUST forums will help us find targets for new types of business, scams and griefing - like picking up some naive DUST guys as if you were going to hire them to clear planet but instead lock them up for a couple of weeks in POS until they pay ransom (and after that dump them into space to die without oxygen).
P.S. It seems like EVE finally managed to free my sociopathic alter-ego. |

Having a Dust subforum on in the EVE forums makes sense because there will be a Dust component to EVE, much like we have a Science & Industry subforum because there is an industry component to EVE.

The presence of the DUST 514 section in the forums implies that CCP expects capsuleers will want to talk about Dust Bunnies in ways other than fiction stories (which would go in Intergalactic Summit, if on the EVE forums at all), or complaining about scams (which would likely go in C&P or COAD), or talking about whether mouse + keyboard vs controller really counts with a PS3 game (OOPE), or discussing items that capsuleers manufacture for Dust Bunnies (which would go in S&I or MD).
Thankfully for everything else, there's the DUST 514 forum. Thus capsuleers have a place to discuss things like hiring Dust Bunnies, tactics for delivering gifts planet side, and perhaps talking about how to run a mixed capsuleer/Dust Bunny corporation.
If you don't like it, just don't read it. Kinda like all the sane people avoid COAD because it's just null sec smack talk and C&P is just endless people complaining about some capsuleers taking everything that's not nailed down when there is no security on corp hangars.

I don't have uber pc specs
I am not glorifying my pc ego, etc.. whatever else you morons can come up with. My gaming budget is limited so I've chosen PC as my gaming platform that I can upgrade incrementally. Not to mention FPS games are generally better on PC. I've been dying for a FPS based in the EVE universe and they finally give it to is then "troll face" it's for ps3..
I'll post more replies to some of the completely idiotic replies I've seen here so far when I get off work. |

Apparently the exclusivity for PS3 is for one year or so.
There is an interview, I think it was at Massively but not really sure now, where they did hint that after the year, it may be available for PC. It's going to take at least that long to work out the kinks anyway.
