Edited by: mrbabooon on 21/09/2004 03:46:36 Signed, coming from the guy who just bought a siege launcher for 99,111,111.11 off some**** (the price look alot like 99,111.11). They do not offer "returns" and the gm's are just like too bad, we feel sorry but cant do **** about it. Things like this are logged (sales) and the items should be returnable under certain conditions.

Originally by: Kynoch The analogy of the retail store is valid in that is shows that even when faced with the loss of revenue through a false claim for a return, the refund is still done in the interest of customer satifaction and repeat business AND that little thing called benefit of the doubt.
This is true at chain retail stores, because the manager knows that if he accepts a bad return, it's the company that takes the hit and not him. It's easier for him to give in than to argue with the customer.

Originally by: Dream Crusher This is utterly ridiculous. The game is bugged and everyone knows it. So a station gun at 211 km from you shoots you. You petition it and they say, "well GEE WIZZ UNCLE BOB sorry but we don't have a log of it".
So now I lost something because 1) the game is bugged and 2) the game is bugged in that it didn't keep a log?
Well, all I gotta say is WOWoWOW you broke 10,000 customers but how long are they going to stay if you treat them like dirt?
In case you didnt know: sentryguns in some systems have way more than 150 km range...maybe you found one of them

from what I've seen, as long as it's not a stupid asumption most items they can prove are replaced.
even the title of the thread is misleading. sometimes they cannot prove something, or you didn't read the patch notes carefully enough or they failed to mention something, as you very well know s*** happens. And not every "retail" manager is that "understanding", some of them know that the client is not, in fact, always right...

I lost a ship due to the sentry gun changes (the angression affecting you at different gates) before they made the announcement. CCP acknowledge they made this mistake, and upheld my complaint, and i got my ship back. However 50million isk of named equipment that didn't get blown up, I assume looted by a lucky bypasser, never got returned. I just got the same bull**** every time I argued, that 'CCP do not replace item not blown up'.
