A discussion on my alliance's message board mentioned that at one time early in EVE's history it was possible to rig a scorp to MWD faster than its warp speed. Is this for real? 
I feel like I missed so many game-breaking, but nonetheless fun flaws by joining the game so late. I'd love if CCP would launch a single-server shard running some early server, just to play around with all the fun bugs that used to exist. Octo-MWD BSes, cruise missile frigs, et cetera.

You used to be able to put a MWD in every single one of the Scorp's eight midslots, resulting in it going something along the lines of 0.3 au/s. This was before the stacking nerf, of course. It naturally only had the cap to fire all these MWDs once. It was a funny gimmick setup, and had no actual use.

there is no point 
but yra you could fit 8mwarps on a scorp for a speed ship , no way to run it for ever |

Man, that sounds AWESOME. How could something that gives so much fun be removed from a game? The entire purpose of a game is fun. |

IIRC, 8 actually made the capacitor too small to even activate them...6 was about the max you could do. My triple-drive Malediction did about 180km/s or so...pretty extreme. |

It was theoretically possible to get a Scorpion up to 14 AU/s, but you always ran out of cap before you got there. Fastest achieved was somewhere around 1.3 AU/s I think? |

It was usefull to leave grid within a few seconds. Given that you could pop a ship before it went into warp, that was the only effective way to run from a gate camp. |

it used to very useful, going 90k per second in a bs burning out of gate camps, but frigs were fast to.

eve was fun back in the day now everyone runs round in there power blobs with the same generic cookie cutter set up fitted thanks to programs such as EFT how dull is it now compared to how it used to be back in 04-05...

it most certainly did have a use and i still have many 600au safe spots to prove it
