Here is a step by step instruction for how to connect to Singularity. Singularity is a public test server which is used to test upcoming changes and fixes and give developers feedback on these. Feedback is usually posted in the Game Development forum and any bugs are reported via the Bug report system. What is special about the test server is that while you have the same skills as you do on Tranquility, most items are available on the market for 100 ISK.
Read this before you join the server:
Since this is a test server, there are special set of rules. Make sure you read them here: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=253187
Here is another thread that is very useful to read: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=46836
How to
If you have already installed the EVE Client, skip to step 3
1. Download the Tranquility client: http://www.eve-online.com/download/ 2. Install the Tranquility client 3. Rename your install to "EVE Online TQ" or something of your choice 4. Install another copy of EVE Online, download the client here http://www.eve-online.com/download/ 5. Rename that to "EVE Online Singularity" or something of your choice 6. Go here: http://www.eve-online.com/patches/patches.asp?s=singularity 7. Download the latest Tranquility to Singularity patch 8. Execute it and point it to the install called "EVE Online Singularity" 9. Note that the client you just patch changed name to "EVE Online" again. So, rename it to "EVE Online Singularity" again 10. Run the client.
If the client attempts to connect to Tranquility instead of Singularity:
Read the "Configuring the SiSi client to connect to the correct server" on this page
Comments, questions and ideas are very welcome.

It never works, I officially give up. I downloaded the full build for SiSi several times over the past months it works as long as there is no patching involved. In the most recent case I was able to self destruct my pod (no thanks to "moveme") and bring it to Jita before the new patch came out, yay. I downloaded the patch and applied it manually. Now it says build 98454 in the upper left corner of the login screen and incompatible release in the status line at the bottom. If you try to re-apply the patch it tells you "tough luck sucker, download the whole thing again" (well actually it says "please re-install" while telling you that patching doesn't seem to work). On a side note, I run TQ exclusively over Boot Camp on XP because the Mac client renders itself useless by using up almost all the CPU my MacBook Pro provides and heating the thing up to a cosy 60 degrees celsius, that is when the client is idle and all settings are on low. This fact alone overshadows all the other issues TransGaming/CCP should be worried about. I can't install the SiSi client on XP because there is no space (well 2 GB headroom) left on the NTFS partition (it's only purpose is running the EVE client ). So I thought I'd give it one more try since you guys promote field-testing your work on Apocrypha 1.5 and on the top of all that I have to report that not even the crash-reporter works (it crashed). You might want to consider either converting to OpenGL or drop Mac-support altogether, since I know nobody who trusts the Mac client with anything more then operating the skill queue. I certainly won't fly a multi-billion ISK worth Proteus through w-space with this. And I honestly don't think my hardware would appreciate the wasteful usage of resources over an extended period of time. At this point I have to apologize for soaking my words in sarcasm and freeze-drying my compassion for the QA department since there simply is no quick fix for cross-platform marketing of complex software. Either be bold and visionary and make it multi-platform from scratch or simply stick to your choice of clientele. The rule is simple take two state-of-the-art computer systems namely platform A and platform B run your software on both of them, now if one sounds like a personal computer while the other reminds you of a Boeing 747 taking off next to you, something is wrong. I do like EVE :P

This info should be on the wiki page. If we can't get this on the wiki page can we please get a link to this thread FROM the wiki page for reaching singularity?
The following link I had bookmarked is now dead, and the page is written as if there is no mac client at all.

Also, this process is awful.

Yeah, I would love to be able to patch SiSi so that I can use it. The client itself won't patch automatically, and when I tell it that yes I do want to go to the support page, it just closes. Nowhere have I been able to find a link to manually download a patch. I'm not going to re-download the whole client every time CCP tweaks something. That's stupid.
This is one of those things that make it seem like CCP gives no ****s about the Mac client. In ur engineering, fixin' ur warp core. |

Edited by: Zief on 13/01/2011 17:22:11 The support page says that build 220045 is the current one, but I don't think that is accurate. I downloaded the full 220045 yesterday and installed it, worked fine. This morning it says there is a new build available, but it won't autopatch. Full client is also different from yesterday, now it's 2200459.
I think we are just dealing with the fact that they haven't got around to giving us access to the latest patch.
EDIT: TQ to Sisi patch link is broken atm it seems.

How to
*Do to constant updates to the Singularity server patching a Tranquility client to Singularity client will not work. Please see the next section to connect to Singularity* If you have already installed the EVE Client, skip to step 3
How To, Part 2 *updated September 21, 2010*
If you have already installed the EVE Client, skip to step 3
1. Download the Tranquility client: http://www.eve-online.com/download/ 2. Install the Tranquility client 3. Rename your install to "EVE Online TQ" or something of your choice 4. Install the full Macintosh version of Singularity, download the client here http://www.eveonline.com/download/?s=singularity by clicking the Mac link. 5. Run the Client 6. Note: You may still have to apply the changes to info.plist in the section below.
If the client attempts to connect to Tranquility instead of Singularity:
Read the "Configuring the SiSi client to connect to the correct server" on this page
Full details on how to connect to Singularity can be forund in this thread. The Test Server: Information Listing also provides valuable information.

Complete crap... seriously emoragequit frustrating over the past 24 hours. I've had to download the entire client 5 times, and it still doesn't work. I've been patient over the past year, trying so many times to get sisi to work on any of my computers. IT HAS WORKED NO MORE THAN 3 TIMES.
Am I pleased to know that sisi is available on Mac, yes (which... really? are we really to that point where we should be happy to be treated as normal people?). Am I pleased by the way it doesn't actually work, you can guess that one.
The instructions are bogus and in one instance can't even be followed at all. The patch has never worked. At best it only takes 1.5 hours to download the entire client, only to find that that one is somehow the wrong build which doesn't even have a patch available but says that it needs one. Then I find that once I think it's going to work... the server is down and there's another, newer version. Great, only 4.5 hours on this download. I'll save that one for overnight. What? It failed to mount? Oh, ok... Smile, take a deep breath. Download again. Fail. Again. Fail. Forums.

hi Following the release of Incursion 1.4.1 and that Sisi are TQ are ment to be running the same mac client, I've attempted to redirect my client to Sisi but have failed...
Is it me or the instructions???
Followed the instructions on http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Mac_Bug_Reporting problem seems to be with redirecting the client in the config file, this is an Unix Executable file and opens through terminal and i can not add any text into that document. The image on the web page show a picture from the old way then redirection was done through the Info.plist
Anyone successfully redirected the client?
Look forward to getting on sisi for a day or two, well maybe.
Thank you for any assistance.

CCP needs to at least reply and let us know what is being done to solve this issue or if Mac users just won't be able to get onto Sisi. Either way is fine, but let us know.

Just downloaded a Duci client. It does run, but tries to connect to the Sisi server no matter what I do. Redirected it to the duci prefs file and added
[AppDefaults\\EVE.exe\\transgaming] "cmdlineadd" = "/server:87.237.38.60"
To the config file. No go. (Oh and its incompatible with sisi, so the log in screen is all you see).
