You can't always scale the loss in isk. How much for example is a Raven State Issue worth, or an Imperial Apocalypse ? Some offer 120 billion for a RSI, others might have bought one for 60 billion two years ago. Or what's about that Estamel Invulnerability field, 10 billion ? 20 billion ? It's easy to find out the ISK loss of standard ship kills, with known prices because of a big market for that items, but when it comes to the most valuable ships or modules, even a rough estimation is hardly possible.

1) Omipotent (infinity isk, 200day skill to lvl 5)
2) Concord (infinity isk, 60days to lvl 5)
3) Polaris (infinity isk, 6days to lvl 5)
Hows that for troll?

I'd be more interested in knowing which words were the catalyst for causing the greatest ISK loss in Eve.
Contenders could be:- "Prove it" "Your mum" "Yes of course you can have a few T2 BPOs"

In all honesty I believe the #1 ship kill loss in all of eve history (accounting that Titans get insane insurance payouts) was probably KIA's Freighter that was hauling to the brim with high end moon, high end ore and bpos in excess of several billion. Just a guess. I wish I could find the killmail but it would have been from spring of 2008 when they lost Period Basis.

For a single ship loss, sub Titan (no cargo), this is Nightmare seems to have been quite a bit of isk.

No surprise that I could not find on KIA's killboard the freighter loss of all losses... but this one is marked at 40bil, and it doesnt have values for some of the rarest items lost.

Its also fubar, good luck getting wrecks and NPC's in your cargo, therefore no proof that any of the items listed were even present, problem is solved by killing off old mails the same happened to my killboard so i just nuked off the old invalid mails listing frigs having skillbooks fitted in slots and NPC's fitted aswell.
*edit* also the killboard can't tell the difference between BPO's and BPC's

Nice White Knighting there... All the BPC's listed there are given values of 10mil... undervalued All wrecks were given value 0mil and the Titan BPO was given value of unresearched, Officer mods seriously undervalued and T2 ships packaged were given extremely low values.
In the end, that loss was between 40-80bil, and since there is no insurance on cargo I think it is the #1 worst loss in eve history.

No, it's an idiot. Seriously, that's a good 60 billion when you add everything up. For what? A tiny increase in your mission running efficiency? That investment would take years to pay off. You could buy a t2 BPO for that kind of money and make good isk for the rest of your eve-life for no effort.

To be fair to the guy when it came up the last time on the forum he said that he had accumulated the mods over many months back when they were a lot cheaper than they are today. In that respect, to him at least, it's not a loss as compared to someone who has sold GTC/bought ISK like a madman to buy all of that stuff in a short space of time.
I agree though, it's a lot of ISK for 5-10% faster missioning.
e: He was also very magnanimous about the loss too, didn't whine about suicide ganking or anything.

I remember when I was still rather new, sometime late '05 or so, when Farjung and a few other guys ran into our area of low-sec and proceeded to pwn a bunch of us. We got a group together to chase them out and somehow I got ahead of them in an interceptor. I was seconds away from getting a point on his Navy Mega before it warped out.
It blew up a week later though in a big fleet battle (so I was told) and the loot that dropped alone as worth billions...
...and that's my "The one that got away" story!

Except for the megathron BPO still valued at 950mil, as i said because the DB is fubar looking at that mail you won't know what exactly was in its cargo originally without the original mail held by the player, so without that half of the officer or faction stuff might not have even been present in the original mail so you have no idea what was actually there, given the DB on that board is screwed you can't trust the mail.
