Hi, OP. Non English-guy here, too. Made a long postey and it sounds not always nicey but I'm confusey'd.
I came here in expectance of erotic fanfiction (supported by fanart) driven by heavy hormone fluctuations but then realized it's about some guy being afraid that ambulation turns into Hello Kitty dressing games in space with plenty of suits and funny head-thingies to chose from (I still want a cat-girl dress, plz ._.).
Now I'm stuck wondering which kind of info spawned the following statement:
Quote: Its the same thing with ambulation and that is what confuse me about the design behind it. Your community is mainly composed of male members, so you give them Ken and Barbie in space.
Was there a new dev-blog with pictures full of pink stuff, horses, kitties and other cuteness which causes this fear? And what's so bad about Barbie? She's blonde, slim, naive and has big boobs. Dunno why you'd not like her in a tight Gallentean plastic dress. Or a Minmatar-chain. Around her neck. Crawling behind you. Begging for mercy. I came.
I remember in having an Optimus Prime truck at the age of five (could of course be morphed into the bot form) which was about the size of that big Barbie-holiday-trailer-thing (the one which expands into some kind of crappy house or stable or whatever) and I had lots of fun playing "Transformers kill Barbie and sacrifice Ken to heathen Gods" with girls back then. They never liked it much but that's just because they don't know how to play - everything was serious business for them and had to be done "like adults do". The fact that they were confused, scared and disgusted at my attempts to destroy their pink world, made it even more enjoyable for me. This applies to most polarizing actions/statements and also rings true in EVE for me.
I thus conclude that ambulation needs lots of pink, naive, innocent, cuddly things just to desacrate them while my crew cheers at me.
The success of the expansion is exponential to the amount of hot/cute female avatars (to cater to the male audience) and the ability to make them suffer (to cater to the griefers). Judging by what you read on the forums this covers about 80% of the userbase's needs.

Weirdness aside:
I think CCP is able, above most other current MMO-companies, to create dark, creepy, uneasy atmosphere - be it in space or a station. Dumbing WiS down by making a shooter out of it or just making it depend on stupid mini-games seems rather unswise to me. If you take the time to read the Chronicles or a bit of background story here and there you'll surely come to the conclusion that there's a rich cyberpunkish society feeling behind it and I'd rather see this receiving a platform (besides chat) to act out and experience than run around just shooting people in a mediocre shooter all day (or driving races or whatever). WiS will hopefully not be a game in the game but add into it and enhance the EVE experience. Roleplaying is not for everyone but I'm sure there'll be opportunities to bask in the magnificent EVE-atmosphere, once the expansion hits, regardless of gameplay-preference.
I'm not trying to stop you from voicing concerns but I'd say it's much too early to scream "O noes, they'll ruin EVE's feeling!". I for one totally dig the visuals (including dresses) of the EVE characters and would love to run around in them while insulting random people in Jita 4-4 for being "skanky *****s" or "deluded elitist sons of a Fedo".
