Edited by: Snook on 22/09/2004 10:18:53 I was playing around just before downtime with my crusader setup. This is what I came up with.
4x dual pulse II's 1x mwd, 1x disruptor 1x heatsink II, 2x cap relay, 1x small armor repairer I
Bring it on CrowÆs and Taranis's

Originally by: Meridius TBH i don't see you could take out even crows in that setup. If you orbit at anything less then 15km you will get webbed, if you do orbit at 15km you won't be able to hit them.
With dual light pulse II your optimal with radio crystals will be 15120m. While orbiting at 15km you orbit is really around 17km. At most you'll scare them away but realistically they will just get bored and warp out.
If you go up against a taranis under 10km your gone in 5 seconds. If you fight him at 15km the few amount of hits you do get will just make him warp out.
Your right but when you add in the accuracy fall off I think it will be just doable and they won't be warping cuase Im using a disruptor 20km. I haven't actually had a chance to test it but if I miss too much I'll simply switch to dual light beams II's.

Well after further testing I decided the cap wasnÆt good enough
Even after dropping the heatsink and adding another relay you will still run out of cap fairly quickly running 4 guns w/ radios, a mwd and a 20km disruptor. Of course armor repairing would be even worse.
So IÆm guess IÆm stuck with the old setup:
4x medium modal pulse laser I's 1x mwd, 1x 7.5km scrambler 1x micro aux core 3x cap relay
If cap wasnÆt such an issue I think the new setup would really be good...it would keep you out of that venerable webbing range and at least level the playing field against some of the other interceptors.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a way to stabilize the cap with a 20km disruptor?

I know...super evil, thatÆs why us Crusader pilots need to stay out of webber range. But itÆs hard to find a good setup with a disruptor because they EAT cap.

Originally by: Meridius Hate to break it to you Snook but they can get away even if you use a 20k disruptor.
Also, if you need to sustain a disruptor you are doing something very wrong.
BTW, a disruptor uses more cap then a MWD, sustaining mwd + disruptor is impossible even with 4 relays afaik.
Yeah well Im out of ideas...
But I'll leave you with this.
