Originally by: ChinChinneyChin I live in 0.0, Ive noticed that only a few systems have a decent market,
What really annoys me is when stupid pilots put up sell orders whose prices do not reflect the remoteness of the system.
I put 400 of a certain module on the market, for sale @ 400k, the traders in the area are also selling the same module for about that price, give or take 20k,
Now some idiot comes along and puts up 300 of the same module for just 100k, could someone explain the logic of this? can he not see that he is missing out on 300k every time he sells one?
hes just doing a better job than you....

Originally by: ChinChinneyChin god, some of u are so dopey its unbelievable, ive brought him out once, and he just built more, i think hes looking to get immidiate sales from me buying out his stuff, im not going to buy him out again,
so the only option is for me to reduce the price of my stuff to match his sales, then we will start a 0.01 isk war, obviously if he follows any sort of logic he would know that this is obviously going to end in a 0.01 isk war.
therefore, why didnt he just undercut me by 0.01 and keep his price nearer the 400k mark, surely he can see the 0.0 residents have no chioce.
i suppose trying to get any logic from an eve player is a silly and pointless task.
Your lack of understanding is not anyone else's lack of logic.
surely you can see we are both gonna miss out on 300k per module? lol
welcome to capitalism noob

We do it for the tears.
Market Suicide Ganking is Eve at its finest and CCP has yet to find a way to nerf this recreation.

trader tears > carebear tears
just because an item is worth 400k to YOU, doesn't mean it's worth anything to me. if it's worth nothing to me (i.e. no mineral costs for me) then i can drastically undercut the competition to sell my stuff faster.
if i drive prices way down in the process, then oh well, the customers benefit. i'm still moving my product at an acceptable rate and coming out on top. boo hoo if i cut into your profit margins.

There are no REMOTE parts of 0.0, anymore. You vastly underestimate the logistics available to players. Jump-bridges and jump-ships have largely made logistics a non-issue in this game.

These are the true capitalist geniuses, selling one item in one place at a minimal profit! What a cunning plan, what a masterful market manipulation
I swear it's true, real traders just ignore these bumps in the road and keep on trucking

I can tell u dont have much experience of 0.0, if there are only a few traders in 0.0 where u can get certain modules, then the module is worth however much the ask price is, we are in control of the market.

Im quite suprised that u cant see stuff will sell just as fast regardless of price, when in 0.0, surely u must be able to understand if there is only one or two traders a few systems apart, we have the monopoly, thus, we make the rules, if consumers dont like it, then they can haul themselves 40 jumps back to high sec and buy it there.
This is why i say we are missing out on profit, cos the simple fact is we sell much needed modules where none else does.
Ok fair enuff if the dude is helping out alliance/buddys, theres not much i can say to that, All i can say is look at the real world, No one really cares how much a consumer has to pay in remote areas, if the big supermarket chain is closed for the day then we all have no chiose than to go to the smaller supermarket, and accept whatever price they are charging, theres no way a real life trader will put their prices the same as a big supermarket chain.

Prices that are too high cause people to go into manufacturing. Or cause them to invite industrialists into the 0.0 space you're gouging them in.
I started "roll your own" manufacturing after seeing ridiculously low mineral prices in many places and ridiculously ship and mod prices.
Once someone rolls their own, it is only a matter of time until they become a seller and start eating your lunch, too.
