yeah you should be able to download the non-steam client and just use your normal login/pw without having to launch steam (I think)

To the left of this post is a menu, in there you have a section named "EVE Download".

Somewhat off topic, but you're aware that you can contact Steam support and get your account back, yes?

I play L4D on Steam because I have to. I avoid using Steam with Eve. Steam slows everything on my computer except for the Steam client to a crawl when it's got a game running.

Maybe you need a better computer?
I have Steam running in the background pretty much all the time and I have no problems with it whether I'm playing Steam games, non-Steam games or anything else.
I don't play Eve on Steam because I started playing before it was available on Steam and I never bothered getting it on there. I usually prefer to get games on Steam if available, though.

I thought you could play steam games in offline mode and close the steam client? At least thats how I play the half-life 2 twitch shooter mods.

Maybe he doesn't need to run the Steam client?

well if you havent already re-downloaded from here, you could save time by just finding the eve.exe file from your steamapps folder and create a shortcut for it. Thats what Ive done. For some games like EVE, installing it is really the last thing that has to do with steam(if you want). I could be wrong but this is based on what I can see.

@ OP:
If your steam login has been hijacked, assume your PC has been comprimised completely. Assume any and all information stored on your PC, even now, is being monitored or siphoned off to somewhere else.
This not only includes Steam logins, but your EVE login and anything else you've entered into that PC since its conception.
If you've entered bank details into said PC, contact your bank/s.
If you've entered personal senstive information (Social security, etc), contact authorities.
Leave the PC alone and have a security expert check on it.
Why the overly anal response from me? Well, identity theft/fraud is a serious matter, one that could have long-term life-destroying consequences.
It could have simply started from a Steam login... -

its like these identity cards they want to introduce into the uk, loads of biometric data and stuff... doesnt mean your identity wont be stolen, just means that when it does, your fked
