Our prays call out the amarrian victims in this epic battle! May the Republic burn in ruins!
Ok just to summ it up so it dont get locked. The Amarr faction was engaging a Minmatar Republic POS. We engaged both and the Republic lost another POS.

So what happened exactly? I was told CVA would come to kill it, but browsing some kb's i dont see any CVA. Who came and what happened? (And who won?)
And far more important, did FW lag fix thingie help?

Edit: nvm, amarr kb works again. Serious you guys had more capitals than the entire amarr fleet had ships

Edited by: Mutnin on 06/07/2009 21:21:27 Oh, man that one does look juicy on the KB's. I see Amarr lost a dred to Razor & KIA. Was that part of the same fight with the Minmatar vs Amarr or did they come in later?
I had to run to the bank when they were taking x's but it was sounding like it was gonna be a big fight.

Battle Report from the NC side:
We formed up Captials and Fleet BS in tribute, our FC said it was going to be the funniest hotdrop ever, so, we got a bunch of people together. About 45-50 minutes later, with 180 in fleet, we rolled out.
Everyone started moving to the target system, about about 10 minutes of flying, Capitals hot-dropped, and sub-caps rammed right into the system. We came in ontop of the Amarr fleet, wiping the floor with them, then warped down to the Minmatar pos and killed it.
So, good fight Amarr and Minmatar, it was alot of fun. --

I organized this militia op over the last couple weeks and ill have a detailed writeup soon with all in the info and cred to all the involved corps/alliances, but I want to say: amazing fight guys. I got some great screenshots and to see the fabled nullsec blob hotdrop much sooner than I ever expected. On that note, Razor "thanks" for killing our Revelation. Local hit 470+ at the peak with roaming gangs outside of Taff. The caldari volunteers got involved, pretty much all of the amarr and minmitar militia, RAWR, RAZOR, KIA, etc.

True enough, I however resent the fact that there is an assumed role of the CAOD forum for 0.0 corps. When it says nothing about it in the description ;)

I think quote from an old holovid sums it up: "What the hell are we supposed to use man? Harsh language?"
I warped to the cyno and saw the fleet waiting, I think not engaging was quite sound decision. I did my best to try save the Amarr dread but got chased away by Ares and Cheetah. I've not checked killboards but I think in whole thing I only got to one incursus mail. Lag is a wonderful thing

All i remember was scouting in Egmar, seeing 70+ Mims turn up and screaming in vent!!! I then jumped through in to Taff, support fleet was called to our dread that was in trouble and just seeing my overview fill up with flashy caps.....
Was mega fun, our objectives were completed, and that hotdrop by RAZOR and KIA was indeed a sight to see!
See you guys soon ;)

Outstanding job to the Amarr for bringing the fight, I enjoyed myself thoroughly. It was awesome seeing 5 different fleets coordinating on TS.
I was FCing the general militia fleet that came down from Amamake. On the way down we lost one Tempest that fell behind, but when we positioned ourselves on the Orfold gate in Egmar we got a Harbinger, 3 Zealots and a Myrm. I'm still trying to figure out how that mega got away though.
Once in Egmar we met up with a small contingent of Gallente that decided to come upon hearing about the Caldari involvement. I was prepared to jump into the Amarr support fleet that was numbering about 50 on the gate with my combined Gallente and Minmatar fleet, but the caldari arrived reinforcing them before the fight could commence.
The support warped to the station giving us the opportunity to jump in and engage in the slugfest there. Thourghout that massive fight(at least 300 ships on the field) the only lag I experienced was graphical.
I wish NC would have let bygones be bygones however. Without that surprise I think the fight would have gone very different.

If the NC hadnt shown your POS would be alive but only because of RKK's Capitals...So I guess we both had help, and will never know how the battle WOULD have gone. The fight on the station, however would have still gone our way as the NC had no impact in that engagement whatsoever. I was with the support fleet sitting on the Egmar gate and we were waiting for you guys to come in heh heh.
We knew it was a race against the clock and the Caldari fleet hauled ass to reinforce us, which then allowed us to take part in the station fight. I wanted to wait and see if you would jump into the combined fleet, but I didnt think you would due to the numbers we then had on the gate. I knew that the station fight was going to play a large factor in whether the POS lived or died so we warped in and a damn good fight it was!!

To add a little of our perspective on this one old buddy.
As you are aware we were trying to get you to go global on the neutral forces in system, you guys did really well in the main to not do so.
This of course was while your bs fleet was trying to incap guns. Our pos gunning team did a really good job + the triage carriers keeping our heavy point bs alive, you have to agree the pos fight was pretty one sided.
When you withdrew to the station, massive facepalm at your carriers warping off... I mean literally everyone on ts is like wtf? no one had a point on them? are you kidding me... So your out to the station and safe, we then had a choice... are they coming back in? (we didnt see the caldari force incoming at this point) So we decided to leave the safety of the pos and come play with you on the station, thinking there would be no further assault on the pos... (I obviously cannot say if you planned to drop dreads on it after the first assault with BS went so poorly, but I suspect you did not, or were at least considering withdrawal options).
So were slugging it out on the station. RKK are no pirates, so were not engaging you just so you are aware, check there killboard. So it was basically at this point DARK vs the Amarr militia, we didnt do too badly. (we had some remote rep support from the RKK carriers)
This is when it starts to get messy, the caldari are reported as coming in fast through orfold, they are burning and are quickly ontop of our support fleet in egmar on the taff gate. My covert ops is watching the taff side of this gate and I can see your support fleet there aligned to the station.
Caldari jump on contact to taff but some confusion and inexperience of our pilots in egmar they go trigger happy and get aggro... not good, your support fleet (amarr) warps to the station and starts tackling our dwindling forces there... we think about bailing but we cannot leave one of our carriers as he is in triage (welp) so we stand and fight.
My overview on my cov ops character shows the egmar gate in taff as clear, the caldari are either holding cloak or have warped off, or im lagged? So I order the support fleet in to try and stall the caldari reinforcements. Vital time is lost here as your combined fleets are now on top of what is essentially a group of DARK bs at the station. With the confusion over where this secondary group have gone our support holds for those vital seconds which decide the outcome.
By the time its realised that were all lagging and the Caldari + Amarr (support) + Amarr heavy are shooting at our bs fleet, our support fleet comes into protect bs which are either evacing or dead. So our support fleet face****d. A tactical error on my part, but heightened by the lack of helpful game performance (Ill have to stop duelboxing).
We withdraw to the pos, you guys warp some little stuff into the shields for lols and then the NC drop caps on us.
I think we could have saved the tower (without nc), but in the end thats not really why we put up bs 'catherine-wheel-of-deathstars'.
We do it for the fights and we got one

That's a good write up Mitch.
There were quite a few comments in our gang about the effectiveness of your POS gunners, so you can pass my congratulations on to them as they clearly knew what they were doing.
As for whether or not the tower would have been saved had NC not turned up, we'll have to agree to disagree there as we were reasonably confident that we could have taken it down.
