I got my trial account just 4 days ago, but i had so many crashes with the client and the server so that i don't think i will be a future customer. This game is (i guess) at least one year old, what have you done in the elapsed month, i don't wanna know how it looked like the past few month.
Sorry but no thanks!!!

Ever since I logged on about 5 hours ago UK players seems to have had problems. This is the first time I've crashed though. I take it the server is completelly down now?

Supposedly it's on it's way back up right now... so yes, kudos, I guess, particularly if it wasn't caused by CCP...

I am always hearing about how horrid the internet is in the UK. If it truly is that bad.. can someone explain to me why a MMORPG company would put it's server cluster there?

Edited by: Sanaen Eydanwadh on 24/09/2004 01:54:15 I'm on EVE for five days only, and I'm already used to those crashes... Is it normal, doctor
well-well... Just let's hope they will fix that soon, and they're not all getting mad... Maybe they should solve those problems before they think at Shiva ! (no-no, don't beat me, OK, let's go with Shiva)

There really is no reason for all of this downtime and server crashes. We're only talking about a couple of backend databases, and that's it...10k users is *nothing*.
I have trouble imagining what they are doing with 1-4 hours of downtime every day. If they are using Windows as a server backend, that could explain many of the problems, since Windows is notorious for being unable to server many clients.
19.8% downtime over the past 2 days, when a reasonable number is more like 2% downtime for an entire year.

Sadly I don't have trouble imagining, maybe they're still toasting the night they broke 11k and the servers didn't go offline, or maybe they're all busy downloading movies and really stupid mp3's, or they could be playing a LAN game like someone dug up Tradewars 2002, only asci but it had ferrengi and was stable, and if things started to go against you the sysop could always bigbang the universe for the greater good.
Stop griping about server instability and go buy an EVE mug!
Additionally with the purchase of each mug you will receive two(2) invisible Elves.
