You dont need to have an acting set. Just the voices. Animate all of it. The trailers are amazing. With all the fighting and some sort of moral(for me i think).
Do a reincarnation of the Minmatar/Amarr war. Like when the minmatar escape and the amarr fight. And big war with a war hero.
Or do something mysterious like some lone pilot who got kicked out of corp enters a WH and finds a weird thing which does some portal. pew pew etc.
OR The closing of the EVE wormhole. Total chaos and easy to put ideas into.
All in favor. SAY I or what judge says... |

But having that extra means it cost more and CCP likes to waste a lot of cash on stupid things no one wanted. |

I think a movie would be awesome. If they made one and it was successful enough they could make a whole team dedicated to making more of them. So long as there is profit in them for CCP then they would have the funds to hire more artists and devs for such a project.
I think it would be cool. Backstory on the EVE universe in the form of movies done entirely in CG using Carbon. Massive product promotion right there. EvE is not about PvP.-á EvE is about the SANDBOX! |

It would have to contain fictional elements, like miners being under attack for long enough to call for reinforcements. Also, people being concerned with getting in trouble with Concord. It's time to put an end to CCP's war on piracy. Fight your own battles and stop asking CCP to do it for you. |

unless you have a 3d world that you can populate with objects and record in real time.... sort of like a video game.
true, real animation takes a shitton of work, but animators don't usually have the benefit of an actual 3d world engine to place their models in, that already has all the global physics laws built in to it. I'll bet that it would take CCP a lot longer to create a missile launcher animation than it would take them to film a battle royal in-game.
No, CCP's real challenge would be scripting and making a decent screenplay, second to that would be the actual editing and post.
as far as recording scenes, for CCP its easier than making a video in Gary's mod

I would like to see something like "Eve : Genesis" I think it would be much more interesting than a movie that happens "now"... there are actually lots of stories that could be told and would make good movies, but the question is probably how accessible can you make the movie to a more general audience without making it suck... |

Someone in that industry once pointed out cost per minute to animate and do movie footage and it's extremely expensive.
I'd agree that an EVE or more specific, a New Eden based movie would be cool but they really need a partner like Pixar to make that happen. Not just to help them in the production and editing but lets face it, at Marketing? CCP kind of well, they suck hard. |

i've been saying this for years. CCP produce amazing trailers, just imagine what would happen if they had the resources for a whole film. It could be very commercially successful as well if it was done right. There is no reason not to CCP! Free EvE wallpapers

There has never been a movie based off of a game that has EVER been good. The closest we ever got to a good video game movie was District 9, which was supposed to be the Halo movie (hence why some scenes have halo-esqe weapons and a flood creature at the beginning of the film) however the director went horribly over budget and settled for a metaphor of Apartheid instead which was still good, but just shows how expensive it would be to make a half decent game movie.
Creating trailers are much different than creating a movie. All a trailer needs to do is get people excited. A movie has to tell a story. |

"Clear Skies", that's awesome stuff. Would be really nice if CCP could do it again provided it's about actual game/players. (ho dear so many tears because goons and drunken people hehe )
Well at least we could have some laughs listening drunken FC's orders or Villy rap.

If they proceeded with the most recent trailers and combined Dust and EVE it would be great. Somehow, I don't think a movie with the actor being some guy in a pod full of viscous glue would be that appealing as an alternative.

Exactly. Probably the best gaming trailers ive ever seen. I am not sure if making an animated movie will be expensive, but it would greatly promote the game. Probably double. I just read the guinees world records book of 2008(the gamining one) highest eve player count was 35k. Now its like 30-40k normally. Probably will get loads more.
Also got another idea: Some newbie finds the wormhole to back to earth. Interviews etc etc. Than many people go in and they see to find that EARTH isnt what they expected to be. Some weird things come and destroy ships. Every ship in EVE comes and fights back. claiming EARTH once again.
CCP please consider. I want an epic movie to watch. preferably 3-4 hours like avatar. |

Yeah have ships and Ground based warfare.
CCP you got everything you need! You can use voices from the trailers, animation like the trailers, models and ships. Just need the plot.
