Building a Mothership (alone) would be a daunting task, you'd have to construct or move hundreds of capital components (for which you'll also need the BPCs if you want to build them yourself), each component being 10,000m3 in size.
Second, you'll have to do it all in 0.0 in a capital ship assembly array, for which you need Sovereignty.
Third, you can't dock a Mothership, so you can't really put it up for sale.
As for raw costs, you're looking into multiple billions and weeks of construction.
If you want to build a capital, start with an Orca.

This^^^
All you need is Capital Ship Construction 4 and it's prereqs
Oh yeah and sov over a 0.0 system.
Good luck taking systems from 0.0 alliances.

Def a scammer.. Everyone knows the NC's biggest enemy is their ego...
anyways, back to the hel...
I've forgotten the exact number, either 23 or 25 er something.. Anyways, get like 25ish Niddhoggers to a sov'd system in 0.0 that has a station with refining.
Deploy a pos with a Capital Assembly array
Refine the 25 Niddys and move the capital components into the array at the pos, insert bpc, hit bake. wait what will seem like a lifetime, then hit deliver when ready and watch as you new hel knocks off assembly array and bullets outta the pos at a good 3k/sec. If you don't like heart attacks, use a capital ship maint array to deliver to. The capital arrays are basically just comedically large versions of the normal ones.
I highly suggest you run through the numbers / do it on sisi first so you know EXACTLY what you need. (you also have to premake the clone vats bays iirc since the niddys don't use them..)
Oh, and then make sure that pos doesn't die--- which is why most do this in sov 4 system that would need a sige to bring down the pos since poses in sov 4 systems can't be ref'd.
You may not believe me, but thats pretty much the easy way unless you happen to have mins all in a station in a sov 4 system ready to go, in which case, just add a good month or two baking all the capital components and forget refining the perfectly good niddys - In essence, any combat related activity involving damage has been 'speed nerfed' to just take 6 times longer with a predetermined outcome coined balance by CCP. |

Alternative method: use mineral compression. All the materials you need will fit into 3 JF loads. In a Sov 4 system, where you can safely use component arrays, this actually involves less hauling at the 0.0 end of the chain, as capital components take up more space than the minerals required to build them. Component arrays are cheap and let you build with no extra waste, so all you have to worry about then is getting hold of masses of 5-run BPCs or a bunch of capital component BPOs.
Please get in touch if you'd like to place a compression order. --- 20:1 mineral compression ISRC Racing, Season 7 - schedule |

wait... what? Skill wise all you need is cap ship production 4 (I think) which as a pre-req needs production efficiencey 5, which is the only skill that'd make a difference to the cost involved.
Either way, good luck... and if you "emo rage quit" if it does all goes to pot...

Just curious, but does anybody know a way to build a supercap without owning 0.0 space? For example -- are there any alliances that will allow you to "rent" their sovereignty by putting a one-character altcorp into their alliance for ship construction?
How long does it take to establish the sovereignty you need for supercap construction? Could you do it in a single, out-of-the-way system in a few days, or does the construction take a long time?

alliance members can't use manufacturing slots on a pos, only corp members.
I think what you'd have to do would be make the corp, pay some huge alliance "rent" for however long it takes to manufacture the supercap, put up your own deathstar pos in their space, make the supercap, undock it, and wait for their scout to report that you undocked and get it killed.

while to many this may sound completely ridiculous....
I could see an alliance like CVA open to discussions for this. As the above poster notes, you would need your own corporation in their alliance and your own CSAA death star. It'd be interesting to see if any alliance would truly be open to this concept, and not screw you in the end as the above poster notes as well (albeit for an exorbitant price).

Putting up a death star is not that difficult for a dedicated industrialist with a couple of POS gunner alts. Defending it would be a trick though.

Did someone not give you enough validation as a child? Or do you just want to build it yourself so when you lose it in your 1-man fleet, you feel the REAL loss, because you built your baby from literal-scratch?
Why put yourself through extra expense and stress when you can just buy one cheaper than doing your 1-man-HELscapade.

Doing that is trusting someone with 12bil in isk you basically have to avoid that 1/4 of EVE that everyone hates and knows to be complete scammers.

Win or Fail i can claim to do what no one else has done (to my knowledge). Besides im the only one i trust with my BPC and 12bil in Isk. For those of you less inclined to work you can do the WoW option and buy it.

You might want to spend the few extra ISK to make the deal through Chribba... To the OP: what everyone tries to tell you - supercaps are alliance ships and not personal toys. That means: flying (support fleet) and building (you need sov). Either way - good luck
