Red, that wasn't nice.

Experience is what you get right after you need it.

Originally by: Venko Trenulo 3) Find a cosmic anomaly with lots of asteroids (see 2), you need to use your onboard ship scanner to find these.
4) Find a gravimetric site with lots of asteroids (see 2) but they're hard to find and the asteroids aren't very good. You'll also need a probe launcher and core scanner probes to find these.
The grav sites will typically have better 'roids than the system they're in. And, as I said, if you've gone through a wormhole you'll get the ABC asteroids... and profit!
In high-sec space grav sites can have omber, kernite, jaspet, hedbergite and hemorphite. With the possible exceptions of base omber and base kernite these are all worth less (sometimes a lot less) than veldspar. Plus the sites take training (probe skills) and significant amounts of game time to find. If you are starting a thread like this then you have no business mining in low sec/low sec grav sites (and I'm not convined that anyone else really does either at the moment.)
Wormholes have the problem of hauling the un-processed ore out, avoiding the gankers, not getting trapped in the hole and finding a large wormhole to a quiet wormhole system which has grav sites and being able to defeat the rats. (Wormhole grav site rats aren't that tough, but they're tougher then a handful of tier 1 drones). It's much better suited to those with more than one account and a significant amount of game experience imho. However, all that said, I have done it and it is quite profitable.

Biggest load of bull**** I've heard.
CONCORD will not assist you if you agress someone. EVER. CONCORD only helps you if someone unlawfully agress you.
In order to protect yourself from this, there's a few things you can do.
1. Cargomine - Fill up, dock up, fill up, dock up. Slow, but safe. 2. Secure containers - Anchor, assign password, enjoy safe, but small, can. 3. Get a hauling alt/buddy. Deposit in can, buddy picks up from can. Griefer shows up? There's nothing for him to steal, and he can only make a new can every three minutes. 4. Get an Orca buddy/alt. Deposit into corp hangar. ----- Why doesn't anyone ever read the forums before posting? EVE is a game of adaptation and planning. Adapt or die. |

Q: Who, together with the Ore Thief, will be allowed to shoot at the miner? The Fleet and the Corp? None of them?
Fleet only if I'm not mistaken(Things are a lot easier in 0.0 ). This is a personal action from Miner against Ore Thief. So it's limited to him and his fleetmembers.
The Ore Thief is on his own. He can only shoot the miner. The miner, however, has backup from his entire corp (provided he's not in an NPC corp) sincce the thief will be flagged to the entire corp. However, once the corp helps, the ore thief can fire back at them too.

I believe canflippers become red to your entire corp. If someone does this to you bait him and have corp mates hotdrop on him and take out his ship, either the one he flips in or if you're feeling daring shoot at him yourself so he'll reship, hopefully to something more expensive to lose.

Isn't the main problem, that he's in 1.0 Mining? Why don't u use your Starmap, search a pretty 0.5 system and chill out there?
That was my way of mining before i got the Orca and mined in my alt's and also before i went off the grid into wormhole space.
