I acknowledge that the Rokh is already a mighty Battleship as far as gunning goes, but I feel that it should have a T2 or Caldari Navy variant.
I am currently flying a Rokh, and while my skills aren't fully maxed in Gunnery and Engineering, I find it difficult to fit the 425mm Railgun II's to maximize it's range and damage output. Also, as it is a gunnery ship, missions can get hairy when trying to balance tanking ability and respectable damage output.
I love the Rokh, but find it pales in comparison to the versatility of the Raven, which has two variants (Not including the State Issue).
As far as a variant that wouldn't be too overpowered, I suggest maybe increased Powergrid. This would make the Rokh a 350mm Railgun sniper capable, with the Variant being a big brother 425mm Railgun ship.
Where the Rokh has the bonuses of: 10% to optimal range/5% to resistances per Battleship Level
The variant would have something like: 30% bonus to optimal range 5% bonus to tracking speed/2% bonus to large hybrid damage per Battleship Level.
This would give equitable to slightly greater range than a Rokh outfitted with 350mm Railguns, with greater damage potential. The tracking speed bonus would serve to allow the Variant to successfully damage ships from a moderate range (good for missions).
An example: Rokh with 350mm Railgun II's: -Effective range is about 130-140km with Sharpshooter/Traj Analysis/Battleships at Level 5 and using Lead L charges. -Effective minimum range is about 25km with Anti-Matter L against cruisers.
Variant with 425mm Railgun II's: -Effective range of about 150-160km with same skills and using Lead L. -Effective minimum range of about 30-35km with Motion Prediction/Battleships at Level 5.
Obviously these are estimations for the most part, but should be in the ballpark. I'm not assuming Magnetic Field Stabilizers, Tracking Enhancers, or Tracking Computers being fitted.
I'll try and fine tune this more in the future, but I just wanted to get my idea out there for discussion. Thank you.

IMHO tier 3 ships are good enough don't need a T2 variant. the T2 BS's are good enough and certainly powerfull enough.
Just get a SNIPING kronos if you want huge range.

He means remove the 10% optimal per level and add a 30% flat bonus. Sounds like a reasonable nerf to the Rokh's optimal range. -- Eventus stultorum magister. |

I'm sure someone once said no battleships need t2 variants before marauders and black ops came along. The way I see it, technology progresses and advances are made. There's nothing wrong with adding a T2 variant to Tier 3 BS's. It just has to do something that marauders and black ops can't. -- Eventus stultorum magister. |

You're using the Rokh for missions. This is your problem. The Rokh is a PvP ship, and works perfectly in that role. If you want to run missions, just use your Raven and leave my PvP ship alone.
Of course if you want to give it a straight boost (not nerfing the range bonus and removing the tank bonus), I would happily take a flagship Rokh with T2 resists, and 10% optimal, 5% resists, 5% large hybrid damage, 5% fleet member shield HP per level. Oh yes, and please paint it Khanid black. ==========

This is probably just me and I'm sure that the floating heads at CCP hq will out-think me in this departement. But I'm hard pressed to actually find a role for a new t2 bs. Black ops feel a bit forced as it stands. Marauders are cool for their purpouse. We already have the fleet command ships and siege-warfare implant. Take the time to train that stuff and you'll see a great result in your fleet members shield.

I do not fly a Rokh, so I cannot see why this is needed. It is interesting to see people, who because they fly the ships, feel that there needs to be a better version of it.
I must admit though, I could see the fun in flying a battleship-sized command ship. Please make an extra skill for it that requires Fleet Command I and Command Ships V to fly

Now thats interesting because my Rokh does missions quite well, tanks something like 1,050 dps right now with Caldari BS 5 and has decent dps output as well. But i would like to have a T2 variant as well, and yeah, Khanid black would be sweet.
